Klei Entertainment has announced a multiplayer expansion for Don't Starve.

Ever feel like surviving in Don't Starve would be a much greater experience with friends? Coming later this summer, your wishes will be answered with the Don't Starve Together expansion.

Don't Starve Together will be free to current owners of Don't Starve's stand-alone (warning: auto-playing video with sound) and Steam editions. When the alpha version becomes available, the base price of Don't Starve will go to $19.99 (from $14.99). Early Access Alpha/Beta is currently being considered for Steam. The goal is to have a version of it out by late summer this year, though no specific date has been set.

The multiplayer experience will be geared for 2-4 players, working together to survive on either public or private games. This allows you to play with friends or even complete strangers. Not many other specifics are available, but it was stressed that the base game will be mostly unaffected by the multiplayer expansion.
