Annoying

Heh. Here comes open beta. What posessed me to buy Lords of Everquest (cheap WC3 knockoff) or to maintain my standard EQ accounts for almost 5 years is quite beyond me. It would seem they mean little even in the face of statements to the contrary. =/

I also bought Lords of EQ... aren't we supposed to get a Beta automatically?

...

I hope so... that's the reason I bought the damn game.
New system

I was so happy when I got my new computer to deal with the Luclin models. I thought this one would be the computer to end my buying for ever.
Heck who needs more than a 1.4 athalon or 512 megs of pc 133 ram!!??!!
OK I understood when I had to upgrade my video card to the Ti4200 and that only cost me $69.

This system is not gonna allow me to play EQ 2.
The recomended system is 2x this beast and there is no way I can upgrade my comp to get to the standards. I refuse to go on the minimum requirements as I know that will never work.
I think that the person who can source out the parts to build good cheap, upgradeable systems for EQ players just may be able to market a good chunk of sales in the near future. Send the TY to Sony. See if Alla will sell you a link.

Just because you are on Legends, doesn't mean a thing. To get onto legends Is the same as having a SOE ALL ACCESS Pass and nothing more. This allows you to play other games like planetside and not have to pay multiple fees, so no just because you are on Legends you should not get any better treatment

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 27 2004 at 12:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) like how my message was filtered out. I used no curse words or any type of curse word abbreviation and it was filtered out.

Well DUH...you asked people to leave you awful ratings for complaining about a game which most here enjoy and then you wonder why you get filtered out.

The default forum preferences for everyone is to show messages rated as default or better. If you want to see your rant (most of us do not) I suggest you set your Forum Preferences to "Never Filter" and you will see your message.

I think quite a few of us disagree with you however.

Would think a real company would choose Beta Testers by who they think would be best, not who has given them the most money. I had actually considered buying that Lords of Everquest till they spammed us to death with advertisements for it.

I have no desire to play eq2. For starters SOE has showed me how much they care about there customers with EQ1. They raise the price of our subscription rate, yet it takes quite abit longer to get ahold of a GM if something goes wrong. They also ***** something up everytime they patch, and of course it is always something that is negative to a player. If they do ***** something up that helps a player you can be assured they will either ban you for useing it, or drop the servers that same day and fix it. That is reason enough for me not to touch it. Also the leveling system, non-shared banks, and item decay don't really settle with me well.

Once I am done with EQ I will never play another game that is in any way associated with SOE. Leave me your Awful ratings if you want, but thats how I feel about it.

Do i have a chance?
# Apr 26 2004 at 6:49 PM Rating: Default
I'm just wondering if any average EQ player has a chance for beta. I play everyday everyother week, and a ton on the weekends. I'm only lvl 56, and im not some super uber super duper geared player. I just think of EQ as a hobby, not like my life. I'm just curious how i could get into EQII beta, cause it doesn't seem like SoE would want "average, non obsessed" EQ players to try out EQII....Any suggestions?

I would disagree since they are making this game with both the casual players like you and I and the hardcore players who like raiding in mind. Sure they might throw a bone to the Legends subscribers but the number of them pale significantly to others like us on the normal servers. Eventually they will increase the number of testers as they get closer to stress testing and they will also most likely choose those who have been involved in other beta tests over those who have not. They are going to want people who will actually test some.

To those who bought LOE. I hope you really didnt buy just to get access to EQ2 beta. I can tell you that you wouldnt be the first in, more than likely you will end up in open beta the last few weeks before it goes live. Like they said Legends first then EQ subscribers then you guys. LOL Glad I have my 5 years in this game to get in with..
Um, what about LoEQ?

Wait - Ok, so I bothered to preorder and purchase Lords of Everquest - mainly because I wanted to be in the Beta Test - does this mean I still need to "apply" for beta?

I received Email 2 days ago specifically stating I did not need to apply for beta as I purchased LoE, so if you didn't get this email, you may want to confirm they have the correct email for your account.
