Defiance TV Premiere Posts Strong Numbers

"This world has no natives. Which means it belongs to everyone."

Syfy is showing off some pretty impressive numbers from the season premier of its latest TV series, Defiance, which brought in a heaping 2.7 million total viewers to watch its first episode unfold on April 15th; making Defiance Syfy's top performer in total viewers since the premier of Warehouse 13 back in 2009.

Defiance was also ranked among the top five scripted cable shows in social activity on premier day, earning 59K social exposures; making Defiance Syfy's best series premiere and most social scripted telecast for the network to date.

For those who may not know, this new Syfy series is running along side the Defiance game that is being developed by Trion Worlds, the creators of Rift.

The game and the TV show together expand the universe of Defiance, giving players and viewers alike a unique and immersive experience with multiple levels of interaction.

According to Trion, players in the game have already clocked over a total of 6 million hours of gameplay since its worldwide release on April 2nd.

Defiance Also released its new narrative trailer depicting life as an "Arc Hunter" and what your role will be as you adventure through the world of Defiance as a player. Check it out!

The Defiance TV show airs on the Syfy channel on Monday, at 8pm (EDT/PDT) in the US and Tuesday, at 8pm (BST) in the UK. If you wish to know more about the Defiance game or the TV series you can head on over to the official website.
