Zynga Begins Closing Games, Reducing Workforce

The social games giant has begun downsizing.

Adding to Zynga's rising problems, including their lawsuit with EA Games and investigations into alleged insider-trading stock selling, they are now taking the backlash from the social games bubble bursting. Zynga has started closing games, shutting down studios, and reducing their workforce. Zynga Boston will be closed, the workforce of Austin has been reduced, and the UK/Japanese studios are in question. FishVille and Treasure Isle will both be closed, as their use has dropped from several million to merely 70-80 thousand.

Hopefully, the developers who have spent so much time at Zynga will find work elsewhere. We send our best wishes for them.
