Guild Wars 2 Gives Details on World vs. World

The "War" in Guild Wars 2 just got a whole lot bigger! Mike Ferguson, Systems Designer for ArenaNet, sat down yesterday to break down one of the most eagerly anticipated aspects of Guild Wars 2: world vs world! In this new battleground -- known as Mists-- we will have three servers rising up in combat against each other to fight for domination over the field. This style allows for a different kind of battleground balance, as dominate power will shift throughout the game as different servers team up against the current leader.

Spanning the course of four maps, this battleground will provide various objectives that are designed to be captured, contested, and collected for any various sizes of player groups. While a small group might not be able to take a keep or tower, they work great for attacking and defending a supply camp or quarry. While it might sound less exciting, these objectives are just as important as they generate supply for the creation of siege weapons.
