We are the first to bring you this important announcement! I'm sitting in game and working on the bestiary and a message comes across my screen:

IMPERIAL COMMUNICATION FROM THE REGIONAL GOVERNOR: Lord Vader has detected a vergence in the Force. Be on the lookout for any suspicious persons displaying unique or odd abilities. Lord Vader authorizes all citizens to use deadly force to eliminate this threat from the Empire. Of course everyone starts freaking out and saying it's a hoax and all. See link below for your proof! A long time ago, in this very galaxy... I made a promise to you all that you would be the first to know when the first force sensitive slot was unlocked. It is my privilege to announce that this monumental event has happened today. Now I’m not going to give more details on the character at this time and chances are they probably aren’t going to give themselves away (though I could be mistaken on that), so you may have to take my word on it for now. We will give some more information about the first Jedi (like which server) but given that this happened right before the weekend and I need to discuss it with LucasArts, don’t expect a more formal announcement until next week. I can tell you that we will likely see a couple dozen more Jedi over the weekend. May the Force be with you first few (you are going to need it...)

I dont want to complain, or anything but im from a server which has alot of big shots and loud mouths so i dont think we have have jedis but if we did wed know and i really want to know how to get the fs slot open and o yea u master bh's will never know if i got it or not bcause ill rarely use it to begin with because the more u use it the more vunerablity u have to the public p.s. my server is wanderhome and my chars sn is tallon

Anyone who has a problem with Lucas Arts, please leave the game and stop paying 15 a month to complain. If you are not happy with the game, cancle your subscription and cut your losses. People like me who actually enjoy the game do not want to hear you pi** and moan.

As for the Jedi issue, I am not even going to comment on it because most of you are idiots. If only you knew. Congrats to whoever else opened the slot.

aughh the jedi on sunrunner galaxy got his *** kicked by a master Bh that fought him. harmed by a LLC to the point of incap he was healed up like any normal person and walked off. He was using his saber. Jedi arn't invinsible. Jedi hunting season is open all you bounty hunters. take hold of it. Hoo ha! GL to yeh :P

Okay folks...

The game came out in JULY, okay? Yes, we all know they promised vehicles and didn't have them. Yes, we know they promised you'd have those frosted pink panties you wanted so much and so far they don't have them. We know that DEs are broken, Riflemen are broken, Pikemen are broken (hey, look, everything is broken! Doesn't this suck? I think I'll tell everyone how much it sucks and how much FFXI rulz.)

It wasn't that long ago the game came out. Once some more expansions come out (space comes to mind) you'll see people flooding back to SWG. The only difference is that by then they'll be peons and I'll have Mastered two professions, and maybe even be able to afford my own ship.

At least I'll be well-represented. When the whiners return, they'll be sure to tell SOE how much the space combat sucks, how unbalanced it is, and how <insert new game X> is so much better and more fun.

Just to let everyone know there are only rebel characters that have unlocked the FS slot so far. That might be the reason why its an imperial message. But I dont know for sure except that everyone was a rebel

As we all know by now it was a she. And they dont know how they opened it. I tend to agree with the concessus that it was broken until recently.

1. did you see any force crystals drop before they implimented CoA 2?
2. Holocron's were not working as they are now, and even when they were I know a person that has done ever step they listed in thier post. and then some an not opened a slot.
3. The fact that the slot pop'd open just after an update with an unlabled patch.

Well being from a small town in the midwest I thought most stupid people lived there, but I was wrong they are on forums on the internet. I thank you all for giving me something to laugh at. You are so clueless at how tough it is to program a project this large and all your bad comments about SOE, the devs, Lucasarts, pure BS and shows your ignorance to all of those out there who are programmers. I fyou spet less time on this forum and others crying and more time in the game you might get somewhere and find that it's a solid complex game and appreciate all the work, but I think I am hoping for too much there hahaha.

I fully agree with what you have said. This is my first MMORPG that I have played, but I have done some beta testing of games in the past. Honestly, I'm surprised that the game came out when it did. If anyone out there expected this game to be perfect out of the box, then they have another thing coming to them! No game is entirely perfect and when you're talking about a game that is so massive, so in-depth, so involved, it takes time and PATIENCE for things to get fixed. My hat is off to SOE, the Devs, and Lucasarts!! Keep up the great work! Don't listen to the BS that others are putting up the boards. They're just mad that they can't fly up the skill trees to become masters. They just grind their way along, looking past everything else the game has to offer. I love this game, I think it's great and I think that it will only get better in time. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Message was broadcast during high traffic on a Friday!

Today from what i understand was the EU release of the game!

We have been downloading small patches without any notes for a whole week now.

The amount of people that are leaving for other games(FFXi).

Holiday Season only days away!

Being force sensative does not automaticly make you a jedi. Who ever opened the slot has a long road to even being lucky enough to find a master.

actually being force sensitive does make you a jedi...
the skill trees available are this...

jedi initiate you work your way up this to choose
light or dark to become either a light or dark jedi knight, from there you are locked to pursue either light or dark jedi master, three skill trees!

Yup, concur.

I feel if SOE/Galaxies is going to only award those who are hard-grinders and literally spend hours a day playing, then what's the point? Casual gamers are the game's "bread and butter" and we work all day to pay for our subscriptions AND we still love playing AND will continue to pay our subscriptions. Looking at the forums, it's the hard-chargers/grinders that are leaving the game in droves because they've run out of things to do.

I'm more happy to see mounts, so I stop walking my BH-butt all over the galaxy looking for scum and villiany.

Assuming that Darth the one that wants to take the Jedi out. It must mean one of two things..it is a rebel jedi..or a neutral one. I was there when it happened so yes I heard the message from the Gov. Wish he/she who has the FS open a long life. And those that do not, good luck with it. I just hope that the way to do it is never posted.

Honestly its hard to believe the FSCS is open, I think its a hoax. And if there are im sure the people wont keep it a secret for long. Also, if its open then were probly gonna start seeing hundreds more pooring out, as the game is already unbalanced.

anyone else think its odd that this finally happens right after diablo II's new 1.10 comes out?...maybe they worried everyone is gonna give up on the beta testing and go back to one they know works for a while :)

Congrats to those that have unlocked the FS slot and those that didnt, like myself i feel for ya. I rember reading someplace that there was to be a limited number of Jedi, and as Q had mentioned the slot has been activated and that more are on the way. Kinda makes me thing that if more are on the way what happens to us souls that didnt have the good fortune to unlock the slot..? If the numbers are to be limited is there a chance for someone that hasnt unlocked the slot to do so ..? Im sure there will be potential for the second and third wave Jedi, Im just hopeing that its not a year down the road and the FS slot of those not in the first second or third wave find their FS Slot still closed.

It isn't a set limit, the numbers are limited only by the amount of people who are able to figure out how to unlock the slot. There is no point at which the game says "there are X amount of Jedi, stop giving out the FSS"

If he knew how it was opened and others could repeat it there would be 1000's of jedi in just a few months.

Look how hard Epics are in EQ. How many Epics have been handed out? 1000's. They've stated Jedi will always be rare so I doubt the process is repeateble but based off of somewhat random events.

Of course, since their game isn't growing like they thought, maybe they'll use the lure of the Jedi to attract people. It's not like they could ruin the setting or anything, Lucas already took care of that.
