PS3 Version

Just wanted to note. This is not an all the experience I had on the PS3 Beta. I played for about 3 weeks, and initially had NO plans on buying this software, and was just using it as as segway between games. I was very pleasantly suprised.

The PS3 Beta started out being a little laggy, glitchy, locking up, but progressively and quickly got smoother as the game progressed. Week 1 of playing and I was having to restart my PS3 every hour or so because of lock ups. During the last week before Beta ended, I could play for hours and hours with no issue.

The gameplay was surprisingly fun and easy while still requiring a bit of strategy behind button mashing. You essentially have two buttons for standard attack, ranged and melee. Then as you level up you get points to invest in combos, for example. Tapping the square button followed by holding the square button would do an additional combo. Irregardless of what weapon you choose, everyone has ranged and melee options, but melee type weapons focus more on melee, likewise with ranged having a greater focus on ranged.

As for movement, I'm not quite sure what more he was looking for. I found acrobatics to be the most fun, superspeed to be the least, but after some PVP, I can tell ya that it was definately just me on that one. Nothing more annoying than not being able to hit someone cause they are taunting you with repeated circles. Each movement option has it's own set of abilities you can add to. For acrobatics you add grapping hooks to zipline you from place to place, and an option for a "jet pack" like effect... which lets you fly, though not as gracefully and effortlessly as those with the innate ability.

I didn't really think I'd care much about this game. But I though I'd buy the playstation + option so I could play the beta for a bit and see what I thought. It's not you typical MMO. It's a quest littered world, and if you choose, you can turn on your PVP flag on full time and be at the mercy of whatever opponent flies by. Or never turn it on, and be forever safe from other players. The customization options for your character expand as you gain additional equipment. And different quest lines will gradually gain you different sets.

If your considering this game, I'd get a second opinion from this guys. He might be dead on with the PC version, but the PS3 version was a fun experience, and a refreshing change from the FF14 Beta and game that throughly disappointed. I might still go with SWTOR when it comes out.. but till then this seems like alot of fun.
