Community Spotlight: GuildMag

We take a look at some of the community's most interesting projects. First up: GuildMag

There are many great projects going on out there in the Guild Wars 2 community, be they podcasts, news sites, video based, or anything else. Some of them have been around for years, moving over from the original Guild Wars, whilst others have sprung up in the hype and excitement of recent months.

Today we present the first of our Community Spotlight features, where we showcase some of the talent and passion in this fantastic community, giving further recognition to the hard work of the few, for the benefit of many. Who better to kick things off with than the prolific and enthusiastic GuildMag.

"GuildMag is an unofficial digital magazine made by fans of Guild Wars. Completely free and published as a readable .pdf file. With it we hope to share our interest and passion for the game as well as offer new insights and information."

Started back in May, the initial scope was to release a periodical digital magazine focused on the Guild Wars universe. They have since succesfully released four (and a half) highly polished issues, covering a plethora of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 related topics. Amongst the lore and the insight that's regularly featured you will also find some very interesting interviews, with the likes of Colin Johanson and Ree Soesbee from ArenaNet.

Over the past few months they have also branched out into other areas of coverage, too. First up was the GuildMag PodCast, which combined GuildMag staff Malchior Devenholme and Izari Aljen with Sabre Wolf (of the Guild Wars 2 Info video series fame). They're now up to episode 15 of the podcast, and have also launched a live chat/broadcast which you can learn more about in this thread.

Finally, we have the GuildMag Blitz, GuildMag's very own news feed and commentary on current events.

This project has grown magnificently with the hard work of their staff, and keen direction from Dutch Sunshine and Jonny10. Expect them to be a regular presence in the community over the coming years, and stay tuned to our news section for announcements about forthcoming issues or podcast episodes!

So download an issue, listen to a podcast, check out the website... whichever suits you. Also make sure to leave your comments over on the forum, or in the comment section below.
