Fans who have been a a part of the game's community will have a greater chance of getting into the beta sessions.

If you've been to the Rift: Planes of Telara site recently, you'll notice that there's a "Register for Beta Now" link on the main page. It turns out that an e-mail was supposed to be sent to forum members before the link went live, so Senior Community Manager Cindy "Abigale" Bowens headed over to the official forums to explain how the beta process will work.

Basically, anyone who signed up for a Trion Worlds account by October 2 has been entered into a specific beta pool. Anyone who signs up now will be entered into a different beta pool. When testers are needed, a larger percentage will be taken from that first group or fans who have already been a part of the game's community.

As far as the actual beta testing process is concerned, there will be a series of weekend beta events. Players will be selected from both beta pools to gain access for a specific weekend session. Once that session is over, your beta participation is done.

There is one exception, however. VIP All Access Passes will be given out through contests and other events, and they will give players access to every beta session! Be sure to keep an eye out for ways to win these golden tickets.
