Funcom signs publishing deal with Stunlock Studios

Funcom has agreed to publish and support Stunlock Studios' skill-based MOBA game, Bloodline Champions

While this may be slightly old news to some, most players aren't even aware of a small MOBA-style game known as Bloodline Champions. Well, all that should change soon as this small game and its developers, Stunlock Studios, have impressed the heads over at Funcom. How impressed, you might be asking? Impressed enough that Funcom has agreed to publish and support Bloodline Champions, and they've also purchased a minority stake in Stunlock Studios! This goes to suggest that Funcom isn't just in this for Bloodline Champions, but we may also see future developments coming out of the combination of these two companies.

For those of you who don't know, Bloodline Champions is (thus far) a relatively unknown MOBA-style game that combines third-person aiming action with DotA-style arena play. Players can choose from around 18-20 unique characters, where they then fight against other players in lavish arenas. Interestingly enough, BLC is one of the first games to feature zero randomization, meaning that there will be no crits, no "chances" to miss, or anything of the sort. Instead, BLC relies on a system of aiming projectiles and melee attacks - so if you're missing your attacks, it's really all your fault! The game is currently in closed beta, but players are free to sign up in the hopes of getting a golden ticket. If you should get one, look up Pwyff on BLC, and I'll carry you with my awesome Alchemist play!
