Aion's Eye on the Community - April 16th

In this week's Eye on the Community, the Aion Community Team discussed just how, exactly, the localization process works!

Greetings Daevas! It's time for another weekly Eye on the Community, courtesy of Aion's hard-working Community Team! In this week's Eye on the Community, following Kinslon's reveal that patch 1.9 would be coming in May, the team decided to talk briefly about the process of "localizing" a patch before it can be released in North America. For those of you who don't know, patches don't just come straight from Korea to be implemented on the North American servers, rather, they need to be translated fully into English and they need to be "rewritten" in the English style. For example, Koreans may have unique references that their audiences would immediately understand, but if you bring that to North America, you need to either find a parallel saying, or you need to take that quip out completely. This can obviously bring some major headaches, even for teams as big as NCsoft!

In addition to discussing their localization process, the Aion Team also highlighted some awesome PvP survival guide that's been floating around on the internet. A guide that some have referred to as being "awesome" and "slightly gelatinous," but rarely in the same sentence. In addition to this, another rather interesting highlight was the recreation of "Do You Want to Date My Avatar," made by The Guild... but in Aion form! And that's it for this week's Eye on the Community - have a good week Daevas, and stay safe!
