Cryptic Cuts Prices on STO; Inflames Community Ire

Fans are not happy with Cryptic's latest deal for $10 off STO with an extra 60 days of playtime

Cryptic is kicking off their latest round of marketing for STO by offering an incredible package deal of $39.99 for the MMO and an additional sixty days (for a total of ninety days) of free game time. While the offer in itself is a fantastic deal for any player not already playing the STO, many veteran players, like the ones who stuck with the game through its beta testing and beyond, are furious that less than a month after their release, Cryptic is already offering deals that are much better than the ones available at launch. Beta testers who purchased STO a month back ended up paying $49.99 USD for the game and they received only thirty days of free play time.

In other words, even before the bonus playtime has expired for fans who purchased the game on day one, Cryptic has already come out with a package deal that's $10 cheaper and offers three times the extra playtime. Great deal, yes, but perhaps not the best way to show your appreciation for your most loyal of fans?

Nickels and dimes, people will get over it.

Tbh the game isn't worth $50 for a month free right now. It just took this long for the management types to realize it.

On a related note, a few of the poll questions had to do with what to market the retail box for, and how much the subscription should cost.
