Dark Age of Camelot
Test Version 1.101a Release Notes
General Changes
February 16, 2010

===================================

New Things and Bug Fixes

  • Cure Nearsight and Purify Vision: These spells have been changed and will now additionally cure Silence from the target. As such, these spells have been renamed Cure Senses and Purify Senses.
  • Certain zones are now flagged as Epic Zones. These zones now relocate anyone logged out for more than 30 minutes to a safe spot typically located at the start of the zone, except for the main Realm Dragon zones. The locations for these Epic Zones place you safely outside the Faction towns, near the bindstones. The following zones are now considered Epic Zones:
    • Dartmoor
    • Avalon City (and the Crystal Cave)
    • Caer Sidi
    • Malmohus
    • Trollheim
    • Tuscaran Glacier
    • Sheeroe Hills
    • Fomor
    • Galladoria
    • Sobekite Eternal
    • Temple of Twilight
    • Halls of Ma’ati
    • Deep Volcanus
    • City of Aerus
  • Spells, including DoT’s, now properly trigger monster defensive procs in PvE. Many epic encounters have had their defensive procs rebalanced in terms of frequency and duration to compensate for this fix.

Monsters

  • Draco: This monster is now greatly reduced in level but has been given extra hit points, defenses and a few more tricks and abilities. New mechanics have been put into place to target inattentive players. Draco’s Black Hole attack no longer causes players to float in space and be randomly jettisoned into different zones. The attack now has different properties.
  • Typhon: This monster will no longer stay within the lava for the duration of the encounter. New mechanics have been put in place to allow Typhon to travel on land, negating issues where his treasure could possibly drop in lava. Typhon now drops more Atlantean Glass due to these changes.

Item Notes

  • Draco: This monster will now drop Astral Weapons in addition to the Astral Armor. Draco now drops Realm Dragon treasure appropriate to the Realm defeating the dragon.
  • Astral Weapons and Armor have been increased in utility. The changes are retroactive. A partial list of changes include:
    • Astral Weapons have the same to hit bonus that Artifacts, Champion and Slayer weapons have.
    • Many class restrictions placed on stats and other bonuses have been removed.
    • Breastplates are the only item that needs to be worn after summoning the Astral Cloaks. Weapon, Leggings and Breastplate must still be worn to summon the Cloaks.
    • Many existing procs have been enhanced or altered for better performance in RvR. Example: Skin of Iron now behaves as a persistent effect while Astral Leggings of Fortification are worn.
    • Most Astral Weapons and Armor have been given a secondary charge or proc.

Edit: Please note, the changes to the astral weapons and armor are a work in progress, changes may be made before they go live, based on feedback. Keep posted here for any updates.
