I found an easy way to save 500 tunar in jewlry makin or whatever tradeskill. I found that the tool has about the same rate of completion at whatever amount of hp so I use it till it x's then instead of fixing it for 1000 tunar i sell it broke back for 500 and buy a new one. Just a neat little trick. Thought i'd pass it on.
armor and shields
# Jul 14 2003 at 10:10 AM Rating: Good

heres a small guide for those of you in trbl: 1:You cannot buy recipes you have to discover them on your own and once you find a valid recipe you can add it to your trade skill journal. 2:for those of you who want to know what to do when a gem or ore is dropped, my grps always just counts it as regular loot and its alot faster then rolling or giving to the crafter that uses the gems. 3: for those of you buying gems and ores i pay 1k for gems and 5k for rare ores or if the gem is really good like i got 1 with HoT and PoT the most I've payed is 10k but thats when they just wouldn't haggle their price down. 4: these skills are very expensive. I'm at lvl 6.5 on weapons and have spent 150-200k getting here and i can forge up to lvl 28 weapons, lvl 7 i can forge lvl 33s. Hope this info helps you all who are having trbl with the new skills.
Broken Tools - Not a personal problem
# Jul 12 2003 at 7:53 PM Rating: Decent
I found that using a half broken tool works just like weapons during battle, they don't work as well. I try to heal the tool after every 50-100 items i create. This seems to minimize the amount of failures that happen...

Hey everyone, I am going with the weapon crafting, ive go over 20 receipies for normal weapons, As a lvl 1 armorer the only metal i can use is crude iron at lvl 2 i can use Iron and at lvl 3 brass. I am a lvl 21 ranger and i use my lvl 21 hammer. gnolls are the best for dropping gems. I havent been able to make anything special. But an easy way to gain lvls as a crafter is to find a receipe and just make thee same thing over and over again til u lvl up the continue with then receipe that gives the most xp. I know it sounds cheap but it works At lvl 2 i made weapons for lvl 8 char's . To everyone askin for receipies, Its up to us also to send them in if we find them we cant all rely on Haggard to supply us with info. GREAT WEB SITE keep up to good work

An excruciating question, my apologies... Is it 1)the BASE level of your character's abilities(ie. STR, STA, DEX, CHA, INT) that matters? or 2) The TOTAL level of those abilities as you are crafting?(ie. BASE plus equipment with stats)? I'd think it was 1), but confirmation, or ideas about would be appreciated. Thank you.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 11 2003 at 5:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I was crafting weapions last nite and i was trying to use a lvl 31 hammer and it said i cant my tool lvl was to high for that i dont get it im a lvl 32 sk sow wye is my tool to hi does it go by the lvl crafter you are and it wont let me add my gems in to my weapon or armor this is kinda stupid right now thay need to do a little work on the system of crafting and you cant carry much stuff in your trade skills invitory and you have to carry three hammers come on to do all the skills why cant one hammer do all three . it still needs a little work . i think it can be a fun and great thing to do but not yet

I'm using a level 34 tool from the start at level 1 weapon crafting with no problems. I'm a level 38 Rogue. Maybe its the items you are combining? I get that message when I try to use high level gems in the mix.
