Berserker TL Report

Berserker team leader, Xenogenic, posted the "Berserker TL Report - 1.62 (June)" over on the Vault's DAoC TL Reports forum.
    Prior to 1.62, berserkers were viewed, perhaps, as the greatest melee threat on the battlefield, due to their incredible, straightforward damage. Now, after the significant reduction to said damage, Berserkers are largely regarded (by those who play them, at the very least) as a role-less melee class that is ambiguously defined as a “positional and reactionary” fighter, while only having limited reactionary options and two rear positional styles. Lacking the defense of a heavy tank while being rewarded with an insignificant offensive advantage has many Berserkers wishing they played another class, or, in fact, creating and sticking with alternate characters.

the zerker only has 3 spec lines to choose from and of those he can effectively max all 3. He get's no stun nor guard, intercept or other functions he just deals out lots of melee damage. When I started my first zerker I assumed that the warrior would be the durable (chain/shield) fighter winning the longer battles while the zerker if he could stay around long enough would dole out more damage (i.e. light tank / heavy tank). this nerf has taken a class with limited (but valuable spec lines) and further limited them to the point where they have no role at all... ...zerkers would be better served to max (50) spec sword (faster) and parry, leaving left axe alone and use a 2 handed weapon all the time... I'm not sure but is this what was intended.

ima hib player and have to admit that alot of mid classes need a nerf, but Zerk was not one of them. I thought the point of the zerk was to smash into combat and use high dmg LA styles on as many targets as possible until neutralized now the zerker is overlooked and put on the bottom of priority lists. If you ask me gimping left axe you might as well gimp Pole and Celtic Spear. I mean after all those are the other realms high dmg tanks. while you at it just nerf all the tanks since someone somewhere will whine about every singel char being better than theres, please the 12 year old whiners, right Mythic?

Hibs = Casters, Mids = Melee, Albs = A little of both. Realm balance does not mean that whatever toon u make should be able to win EVERY duel in EVERY situation. Zerker is meant to be an in your face melee god. And for these Albs that whine about a Zerker taking out there PLATE TANKS..maybe is just possible that that Zerker has on SC gear up the wazoo with maxed pvp mods and stats, and yer just wearing some bunk DF gear and handmedowns from your older brothers account.
The LA gimp was CORRECT on SBs ( argue as u might but SBs were waaaay to strong with LA) but not in regards to Zerker

Nerfing the Berserkers main spec is a dumb idea, Mythic needs to wake up and actually see what they have done.

What was Mythic thinking... the Berserker class sucks now. The nerf was a stupid idea. If they keep LA the way it is now... atleast give zerkers chain armor. The uber LA made up for low defense. I used to take yellows and oranges with ease, now I have trouble with yellows. Thanks Mythic... you suck

I really didnt like 800-1000 hits of Zerkers, i know is sad that they nerf ur fav class, but i think the nerf is right.

ok so maybe ur right about nerfing, but they didnt need to be as nerfed as badly as they were. i mean they were beated to death by the nerf bat when all they needed was the LA to be downed a point or two.

Now, when the majority of those who play the class AND the TL himself agree that this is a colossal...(searches for politest way to put it)...er, *****-up, maybe Mythic should have the good grace to admit it's been a mistake? One that needs rectifying asap.

i had a nice lvl zerker that i wanted to get to 50, but when they nerfed LA i could barely even take a yellow without having to resort to zerker fury. now in rvr i get ganked a lot more cus i'm the lowest tanker out there and i can barely destroy a pile of crap. i think mythic should think about something before doing a stupid thing like nerf a zerker.I bet they couldnt even answer a simple math problem to save their lives. what else is there to spec in besides LA that actually does some damage? mythic should wise their asses up and return LA to it's rightful spot as an uber skill not a wussy skill.

Yep my 50 dwarf zerker is now neutered,...i've sent mythic comments,...rude comments saying just what has been said the whole damn point of zerkers not being able to wear chain is their damage equals it out!!!! Idiots what the hell are they thinking? and like said b4 damn lurkers are overpowered,..its not balanced when my 50 skald in epic armor gets attacked from behind and is dead b4 i can turn around! 2-3 seconds,.cmon!! anyways when my 4 months is up i'm off daoc on to another online game,...unless the brain surgeons at mythic who think they know wth balance means gets their head outta their ***'

stop nerfing. no class are supposed to be equal. Beserkers are awesome fighters and should be. thats what there there for. wizards cant melee but get a wizard a good pace away from the zerker and things are hard enough for the zerker. see what i mean. Every class should be awesome in what they spec in. Archers should be outstanding damage dealers with a bow and not so good with melee. zerkers should be awesome grunts and not good with ranged. everything will equal out that way. but to make a figher less able to fight... what is the point in that. STOP NERFING!!

I play a berserker. R5.. I love to RvR..I hate to exp..I quit the game when this happened because my only character i would ever want to get to 50 with sucks. I'd rather be a savage. But unless /level gets me to 40+ .. theres no way i'm playing another character. The classes were more balanced a year ago than they are now, minus stealthers they were always and possibly still are overpowered. I think a stealther should be a scout who can't just is like a spy and just uses stealth to watch them from a bit of a distance...not sneak up in the middle of a field in front and PA for half the target's health. But this is not about stealthers, its about berserkers. I can't believe that back in the day, berserks weren't wanted in groups much. then when they got powerful everyone made a berserker and they get the goold old nerf. And its not even a nerf that displaces their damage and does something else like give armor absorbtion while using berserk...it straight up takes the one thing they really did well ... and made them bad at it. I use Axe styles now instead of left axe which suck. I might as well be a warrior and get a shield or a savage and get Hand to Hand weapons. Whatever, thats my 2c
