WoW Game Fuel Promo Begins Daily Prize Giveaways

Mountain Dew Game Fuel Horde Banner

The World of Warcraft/Mtn. Dew promotion kicked off its next phase of the event today; the chance for registrants to win a variety of prizes by spending the "tokens" they've been earning. The promotion--which began earlier this month--is a joint venture between Activision/Blizzard and Pepsi Co. to advertise Mtn. Dew's new Warcraft-themed "Game Fuel" soda.

Fans can register at the site and choose to support either the Horde or Alliance factions of World of Warcraft, which represent the new soda flavors; Citrus Cherry and Wild Fruit. Early registrants have already been earning "virtual tokens" each day by completing various marketing-related tasks, such as watching videos or clicking product links.

Tokens are used to place entries in four weekly phases of daily drawings, the first of which began earlier today. Prizes consist of Game Fuel-related merchandise, as well as some higher-end gaming peripherals sponsored by Razer and Alienware. The grand prizes--expense-paid trips to BlizzCon 2009--are drawn once per week until the end of June, when the contest ends.

Aside from the promotion's weekly drawings, it was speculated and then confirmed that everyone who registers with the site will recieve a code for a new in-game Battle-Bot vanity pet (pics courtesy of MMO-Champion). While the exact date that codes will be sent out to registrants is still unknown, current WoW subscribers can still sign up for the promotion now to reserve a code, until it's announced otherwise!

To claim the Battle-Bot pet, visit the promotion website at www.mountaindewgamefuel.com and follow the instructions there. The exclusive pet is available only between early June and August 20, and you many only claim the Battle-Bot Ignition Key on a World of Warcraft account (either trial or full account) that is tied to a Battle.net account. The account must be in the North American region, which includes the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and Singapore.

The laws for allowing contests like this are different in different countries. Rather than try to conform to the laws of every country at once, this company has decided, like others before it, to focus on either the country where they do the most business or the country where their headquarters is located.

It sucks for people not living in the US, but that's the way it is.

Also, Europeans, you and your Lurky having butts can kiss mine. Smiley: tongue
so lie..

Just peeved it is only for US residents, much like the special release mini pets in Asia for the Olympics it forgets the rest of the wider community. I am in Australia andI really dont recall anythin special or different the Oceanic realms ever got.

Grats for the US residents, but poor showing forgetting the game is a community base from all sides of the globe.

what bothers me more is that Blizzard would allow a 3rd party to organize a promotion that gives in-game rewards that are not equally available to all WoW account owners.

I'd love to collect the non-combat pets.
They SHOULD be available to ANY WoW account owners, not only certain people.

Now I am ticked... to even participate, it's not just that you have to be on the us based servers, but you also have to be a freaking resident of the states! That kind of crap should have been stated straight up, not buried in the legal mumbo jumbo. We should not have to go digging through ever single text to find out if we can participate or not.

Are you sick of contests that don't straight out state that you must be a US resident to even enter it?
Yes, why should I waste my time entering if I am not eligible from the get go; :211 (44.9%)
No, I like my time being wasted by stuff like this; :72 (15.3%)
No, it's the choice of the company to blindside it's non US customers :144 (30.6%)
I don't waste my time with any online contests :43 (9.1%)
Total:470

I tried to click to register, and it had me logged in as fname, whoever the heck that is supposed to be, and it wouldn't let me log out. I will say this, they have some links to some interesting new bands when you find it. ( www.mountaindew.com ) I believe it was to get to the music itself.
