Scouts are a half-ranged half-melee class that is supposed to solo appropriate mobs with a combination of archery and melee. We are supposed to fill the niche role in grouped PvE of being a puller, supplementary damage dealer, and being available to pull a wayward mob off a caster or healer. This role can be filled moderately well, but other classes can fulfill these roles equally well if not better and bring better utility to the group. In RvR we excel at keep reductions and defense, including milegate standoffs, but we are not well suited to roaming encounters.
