Spring Rain Festival Begins Today in Taborea

Starting today, Runes of Magic players can participate in the Spring Rain Festival, which contains numerous quests with a wide range of rewards. The event is a symbol of the Earth's rebirth and is held in honor of a traveler named Castor who supplied a hungry village with a rainbow egg. The seeds of the egg produced beautiful trees that brought the village's misery to an end.

During the festival, rabbit-like "wabbits" will hop around Taborea holding presents for players. You have to complete quests to get these rewards, which include wabbit pet or a drink to turn players into rabbits themselves.

Berlin, 16.04.2009: Frogster Online Gaming GmbH today announced that it will be celebrating the Spring Rain Festival in Runes of Magic , the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that is redefining the standard for free-to-play titles. Beginning today, players have a new series of adventures to discover and challenges to master as the game continues to add new content on a weekly basis since its March 19th launch.

The Spring Rain festival is rooted in ancient legend and is a symbol of the Earth’s rebirth. Legend tells of a traveller named Castor, who, a long time ago, appeared in a village where the inhabitants were suffering from hunger and were in great need since their harvest had failed. So, the traveller gave them a gift of a special rainbow egg. The following spring, the seeds from this brightly coloured egg grew into trees with leaves and blossoms in the most beautiful colours of the rainbow and the time of misery came to an end. From this time onward, it then became the custom in Taborea to exchange brightly coloured rainbow eggs between adventurers in honour of Castor during the Spring Rain Festival.

There are numerous quests surrounding the Spring Rain Festival with a wide range of rewards. For example, during the festival period, there are the wondrous rabbit-like ‘wabbits’ cavorting about the Runes of Magic world and they hold some surprises for players. They will be handing out gift parcels in reward for completed tasks, which among other things may contain a ‘wabbit’ pet or a drink which briefly turns players into rabbits themselves.
