Trials for Tokens - Win a Square Enix Token!

Win a Square Enix Security Token

Excited about the Square Enix Security Token? Not sure if you'll get one yet? You can get one for FREE by entering Allakhazam.com's Trials for Tokens drawing! Be one of the select few Final Fantasy XI community members to be at ease about your account's security on the day of release.

That's right! Your token will be shipped to arrive on the day these tokens go on sale to the rest of the world .

The staff at Allakhazam has set up Trials for Tokens to give each community member five chances to win one of ten (10) Square Enix Security tokens. There will be five different ways to enter, with two winners being drawn from five different pools of contestants. So that means, trials with lower numbers of entries will actually grant higher odds at winning a token!

One entry per trial, per person. The options for entering are:

  • Wikibase Trial - Allakhazam staff will be monitoring wikibase activity and when an edit is made contributing to the wiki's information in a positive way, that user's name will then be noted down on the entry list.
  • Prediction Trial - Guess what the in-game bonus that comes with the Square Enix token is by posting in this thread. Your guess need not be correct and should Square Enix reveal the bonus, you can still enter this trial. All duplicate or off-topic entries will be nuked.
  • Eggcellence Trial - All contestants in the Allakhazam Egg Fight will be automatically entered in this trial. If you haven't entered yet, get your egg entry in!
  • Photography Trial - Post in this thread with a link or image of your favorite screenshot.
  • Pop Quiz Trial - Post in this thread answering at least ONE of the following questions:
  1. Bastok - Cid has given you free reign over Metalworks to create anything you desire. What will you make?
  2. San d'Oria - Make up an Elvaan NPC name. Name must include a minimum of 10 characters.
  3. Windurst - Ajido-Marujido is furious that you got a better score than his on the AP Magic test and is threatening to destroy you. What is your response?

A public list will disclose whether a user has successfully entered the Wikibase Trial. Posts in the Guessing, Photography, and Pop Quiz trial threads will be considered confirmation of entry. How many ways you decide to enter is entirely up to you. Entries will be accepted until April 1, 2009 . Two winners will be drawn randomly from each Trial's pool of entries. Don't miss out on this chance to be one of the first in the world to secure your account!

This drawing is open only to North America.

For yet another way to enter, see the details on FFXIclopedia's drawing.

why do SE always have this golden ticket mentality when it comes to promoting its new piece of crap idea? they should protect everyone's account equally - not market a fancy new trinket to people for more monetary gain...

Because that is what Square Enix said. It's possible the EU and JP sites will host their own giveaways.

Oh for... it ends on April first yes, but do you think we'd have this as an April Fool's Day joke? That's not really funny and since we love funny when it comes to April Fool's, no, it's not a joke.

Does it matter that you know the release date? Square Enix is sponsoring this contest. FFXIclopedia is hosting one as well.

Well at first it only said "Token" and not "Security Token" so that caught my eye, then ending on April first caught my attention as well. And yes, everyone loves funny, but not everyone's since of humor is the same.

Saying you're giving away some "token" that has no real meaning to it then posting a bunch of threads, then having April fools day come up and being like "Ha! Did you guys ever wonder what exactly we meant? There are no tokens!" Would be a fairly silly way to punk people. I also did not see any information on SE's or Wiki's official sponsoring on it earlier, it also only read "Token" and not "Security Token" so I guess that's why we were a bit skeptical. Also, not having a release date on it made us even more skeptical.

A honest mistake, It's perfectly clear now. But, I'm appalled if you can't see why we would think this at first...

Just saying that we wouldn't give stuff away as a joke. Distribute fake news and put bells and whistles on the site, yes. But we wouldn't make people enter a fake contest.

Yea, it's not fishy or suspicious. The contest is sponsored by Square-Enix and SE will be mailing the winners the tokens, the premier sites are just the ones hosting the contests.
I'm suspicious also...

Wait, what is a "Square Enix token"? Are you talking about the new security tokens? They haven't even announced their release date yet... And even if so, they said they would issue them by their account information, how could you give those away? And the ending date for this being april 1st? Something smells fishy indeed.

As in that's how they'll know where to mail it to and whatnot, so stop holding a can of tuna under your nose.
