Level Restrictions Applied to Lake Wintergrasp

Blizzard poster Bornakk recently listed a bunch of in-game fixes that have been applied since mid-February. One fix was implemented on Saturday that applied level restrictions to Lake Wintergrasp:

"Only players level 70 or higher can count towards the tenacity tally or obtain the tenacity buff and get credit for victory or defeat. In addition, only players level 50 or higher will be able to use the portal to Wintergrasp."

Previously on March 6, modifications were made to the Ring of Valor arena, including the removal of the gates. Also, the small side pillars now start in the up position. Keep reading the rest of the in-game fixes after the jump.

Listed below are recent fixes we have applied to the game.

3/14/09

  • Level restrictions have been applied to Lake Wintergrasp. Only players level 70 or higher can count towards the tenacity tally or obtain the tenacity buff and get credit for victory or defeat. In addition, only players level 50 or higher will be able to use the portal to Wintergrasp.

3/6/09

  • The flame wall in the Ring of Valor arena will now be able to break spells like fear and roots after a player takes damage.
  • The gates in the Ring of Valor arena have been removed so players are now free to begin combat as soon as the elevators reach the floor of the arena.
  • We modified the small side pillars in the Ring of Valor arena to start in the up position instead of rising up a few seconds after the start of the match.

3/3/09

  • Demonic Circle will no longer allow you to teleport to a location within the sewer pipe in the Dalaran Arena and result in an error message instead.
  • Dancing Rune Weapon will now only copy appropriate Death Knight cast spells.

2/25/09

  • We have increased the drop rate for the quest items required to complete the following quests in Lake Wintergrasp: A Rare Herb, Bones And Arrows, Fueling the Demolishers, Warding the Warriors, Healing with Roses, Jinxing the Walls, and Warding the Walls.

2/18/09

  • Icy Prisms are now unique, they cannot be mailed but can still be traded.
  • The Rogue ability Mutilate now does its appropriate damage based on talents.
  • Raise Dead now properly detects the presence of Corpse Dust in your inventory.
  • The Glyph of Windfury Weapon will not apply additional attack power.
  • A Grounding Totem is now properly destroyed even if the grounded spell did not do damage.
  • Tremor Totem now properly pulses every 3 sec.
  • Crippling Poison now has a PvP duration of 10 seconds.
  • Wound Poison now has a PvP duration of 10 seconds.

On my server, there's a guild of level 3s and 4s that run the WG raids. The only thing that will change is they will get summoned to WG instead of using the portal. There's only 3 of them at most, so I doubt it contributed much to tenacity.
Sweet

Just out of boredom I have done wintergrasp with lvl 4ish toons. IF your on D you can still help. Grab a cannon then rank up and jump in siege. On a lvl 4 toon I managed to take out 2 of the 3 towers and plague spam huge groups of people. Yea when my siege got taken out I was dead but more often then enough (depending on class) even at 80 if you have 20 people attacking you your prob going to die.

Still that being said this is a understandable change.

Makes sense to me. If you're lower than level 70 your contribution is, more or less, insignificant. A team shouldn't get penalized/buffed for lowbies that show up/don't show up.
