Today's Daily Update

Here's today's daily update from the AO Community page: Topics today will be a little bit around the upcoming client patch ... We have a client patch in the loop now. We hope to push this out very soon on the testlive server. There has been done a lot of bugfixes in this version and it should also contain one thing some of you asked about on the bulletin boards; to be able to toggle players on/off to reduce numbers of polygons on the screen. We will keep you updated with more information on this patch as soon as it is ready. Other than that we are still working on the memory leak. This is still number 1 priority right now. We are also getting closer with a new interface to the payment system, and an interface to your account information. We see that more and more people are enjoying themself in the world of Rubi-Ka, and we also see that a lot of players are having fun. Remember that you should as far as possible try to get a group, this will show pretty significant on the XP you get :)

Topics today will be a little bit around the upcoming client patch ... [also known internally to FunCom as Offical Beta Release 2]

We have a client patch in the loop now. We hope to push this out very soon on the testlive server [as opposed to testing stuff on the live servers, not that you'd know anyway]. There has been done a lot of bugfixes in this version and it should also contain one thing some of you asked about on the bulletin boards [like good English grammar]; to be able to toggle players on/off to reduce numbers of polygons on the screen [, just log off, and the number of polygons will drop markedly. Also, we have implemented a veiw whereby locating yourself inside a wall reduces the number of visible polygons to 1, resulting in superb frame rates]. We will keep you updated with more information on this patch as soon as it is ready [which should be shortly after the second billing cycle in which you pay us money].

Other than that we are still working on the memory leak. This is still number 1 priority right now [because we didn't realize you all would play the game for more than 5 minutes. None of us at FunCom managed to keep it running that long]. We are also getting closer with a new interface to the payment system, and an interface to your account information [so that it will be easier for you to sign over your children in order to get decent playability. You don't think this is all going to be free do you?].

We see that more and more people are enjoying themself in the world of Rubi-Ka [as is evident from the number of curses coming from inside walls in dungeons], and we also see that a lot of players are having fun [teasing players who are stuck in walls in dungeons, until they get a lag spike and get themselves stuck in a wall]. Remember that you should as far as possible try to get a group [of people who are all stuck in the same wall], this will show pretty significant on the XP you get [because you will be able to fight off monsters that attack each other, possibly] :) [ :) ]
