Our very own Pikko was recently profiled on the site Vanadielprofiles.com! Check out the site to hear the interview via podcast. The link is on the main page, just beneath the movie poster graphic.

Here's what the people of Vanadielprofiles.com said about Pikko on their site:

In September's Who's Who in Vana'diel we manage to track down Pikko, site admin for the long-standing Allakhazam, and more recently of FFXI's third podcast, The Mog House.

Pikko began the game in 2003, when she was out at the movies with her husband and some friends; they were talking about the game and he convinced her to start playing.

Originally she was going to be called "Piko" and her husband "Poko" with the intention of running around as two little Tarutarus, but "Piko" was already taken, so she had to name herself Pikko, with two Ks.

Gardening is Pikko's biggest in-game hobby; right from the start she found it fascinating how just planning a seed or bulb into a pot would yield a random object so Pikko began experimenting to see what she could find. That experimenting metamorphosed into Pikko Pots, one of the biggest FFXI gardening websites out there, but as Pikko admits, the information on that site is not even half of the total data she has collected!

Pikko also plays a White Mage, currently her only job to L75. She explains it's a bit of a sore subject for her, as she would like to level more but as a mother of several children who holds down two jobs, she doesn't exactly have the most time to do it!

Soon after she started playing, Pikko joined Allakhazam, and not long after was offered the position of admin. Her other fellow admins are Thayos, Vlorsutes and most recently Kellinda. Until recently there was another admin, Exodus, but he has recently left Allakhazam, but continues to work for Online Gaming Radio (see below). Pikko's role is Senior Content Manager - she is responsible for supervising the other content managers to ensure quality assurance is maintained on the site.

In November 2007, she teamed up with Imperialninja and Exodus to form FFXI's only live podcast, The Mog House, hosted by Online Gaming Radio. Being a live show, Pikko admits she was so nervous when coming to record the first show that her hands were shaking. The first show was plagued with problems, most noticeably the microphone quality, so Pikko jokes that if you wish to start listening to The Mog House, start with episode four or five!

Although Allakhazam and The Mog House have seen admins and hosts come and go, Pikko has no intention of ever quitting FFXI, so we can expect to see her and Allakhazam for a long time to come!

I may be wrong, but I think I remember "piko-poko" being the name of something that ancient Hawaiian tribes used in a birthing ritual. "Piko" means "belly-button", and "piko-poko" is a man-made hole in a rock, in which the parents of a newborn baby would place the baby's umbilical cord.

If the cord disappears, assumingly taken by animals, the child would be thought to grow up mischevious.

Am I way off?

Piko does mean belly button and that's why he thought of it, but I have no idea about the piko-poko part.
