EA Mythic's WAR Marketing A Magic Show?

Warhammer Alliance has done an amazing article on the marketing ploys behind Warhammer Online , and takes a look at why we shouldn't be fooled.

EA Mythic's put on quite the magic show when it comes to their information flow. I gotta admit, the tricks they use, centered around such core items as monthly podcasts, frequent Q&A's, community posting, and the use of a certain excitable man from England really wow the people here.

Still, though, there are always those that don't buy into the show. With more and more frequency, you're starting to see posts that come from the skeptics in the magic show crowd. These are the kinds of things that usually start with "Worried about..." or "Concerns over...". Sometimes posted rationally and other times, put up with all the foresight of a near-sighted nerd without their glasses walking towards a cliff edge, these posts cover a variety of topics, but they all point to a core cause - the information presented isn't sufficient to them.

I admit I've been a Mythic fan girl since I started playing DAoC, but I also have my doubts about how the information has been released.  It's a wonderful look at how players eat up marketing, with no real details, and why there's no reason, yet, to get to excited!
