I do believe you have to loot a piece of equipment of any mob in the hotzone and it automatically starts the Hotzone Quest.

The quest involves giving the item to a NPC in Cresent Reach.

Nice how they delay the Halloween event then make it last only a few days-- thanks Sony!

I'm sure those nasty folks at Sony started those fires just so they could ruin your EQ Halloween experience. After all the devastation caused by those fires, the only thing you're worried about is some quests? Get over it. It's only 2 months till the next week of special events, and the next expansion is even sooner.

I haven't done anything myself but they have the activies list on EQplayers:

Quote:
Fresh Hauntings

* Marta Stalwart in Toxxulia is baking pies to celebrate an old Erudite pie flinging tradition started by an angry wife who scolded her lazy husband by throwing pies at him.

* Grom Shives in Nektulos is retelling the tale of the legendary ride of a dark elf warrior who swindled magic from powerful creatures, and managed to evade them in Nektulous as he returned to Neriak.

* Silas Lightweaver is trying to put on a light show in Greater Faydark, but faeries from Lesser Faydark are running amuck, casting gaudy spells, and disturbing his performance. Capture them, and release them back into Lesser Faydark where they belong.

* Corporal Gravlin is standing guard in Qeyenos Hills as travelers from Qeynos attempt journey to Surefall Glade for a celebration. Unfortunately, evil necromancer Pyzjn is causing trouble by raising undead to attack anyone passing through Qeynos Hills.

I think its a pretty good list of hotzones.
As I remember the old hotzones still drop some pretty nice pieces that they add with every hotzone, and also some decent Augs for those levels. With the new hotzones, it will be nice to see what new drops they put in, I can't wait!

if you dont like what zones or levels they have the zones set for, then put in petitions and see if they dont change it, how are they supposed to know what a player in the game wants if they dont get any feedback from us players about the stuff going on in the game.
why complain

Here is my 2 cents if you don`t like the game and say its not fun for u any more I don`t know what to tell you. For me its getting on with friends I made and still friends with in my guild ( with same guild for 3 yrs ). We not a big guild but we come together we are a force to do some damage:) We have maybe 25 lvl 75 or more but we help each other :) I still love the game all games has some stuff u may not like cant please everyone so why try sony is doing a great job for me and a lot of others too :) So why sit and complain about some of the game when u could be helping others :) I like to meet and have friends on the game cant go to a movie for $10.00 a month I play about 30 hrs a week yes I got a job lol yes a life also but u make time for all of it if u can do time management :) So keep up the good work sony

So do these new hotzones ultimately replace the old ones? I'm just wondering if that means I need to switch zones for my 60 Ranger to exp the same?

Anyways, I know nothing of many of the new zones, particularly my lvl hotzone: Noble's Causeway.. Can someone give me some info on it, or ideas to the best hotzone and areas to hunt?
Lame hotzones

Pretty lame hotzone list. Not getting into HoH unless you are lvl 62.Not that anyone would want to go there.Cant think of any drops but maybe the windblade that are any good. The exp sucks. The bump in exp they gave it MAY equal reg exp in say,WoS.

Level 40 for DSP? Give me a break.Tribal camps start at lvl 30 or so and that was like 4 years ago gear. You could do hoppers/tribals at the cave but how many camps can that support? One group is about it.

For years they have had their heads up their asses.Every good idea is tossed in the trash and some lame *** idea takes it place.Just one more glaring example they have absolutly NO idea what a player wants in a game.

im tired of hearing these rants. They dont HAVE to go back and make hotzones for people to level easy in. Why do you have to complain?

Besides double exp hotzones also drop special items and augments, which makes your argument about HoH useless. If you dont like it then leave.

I like the choice of new Hot Zones.

But the 60 and 65 hot zones seem a little backwards

Though in my opinion they should've made Level 60 Hotzone a PoP zone and Level 65 Hotzone a OoW zone. As 60-65 spells are in PoP, and 65-70 are in OoW. Meh.. just my opinon

It has been a while since I tried soloing in either Halls of Honor or Nobles Causeway. From my recollection the mobs in HOH seemed easier than the mobs in NC. So I would agree that they are a little backwards. On the other hand there are at least some mobs green to level 75 in NC, and none green to 75 in HOH. My question regarding exp in the hot zones is, does someone outside of the suggested level range get the experience bonus? As in would a level 75 get an exp bonus in NC?

Yes, your level does not factor into the hot zone bonus.

Hot zones in essence are only different, because they give roughly 150% of the normal experience for that zone.

Hope that helps.

One expansion a year is perfect. They need to keep people in the game (and hopefully add in some new players, with boxes in the stores), and one expansion a year will do that. When they were doing two a year, I couldn't keep up and actually left the game. Now that they're back to one, I just resigned up! (This new expansion will have all the others, from when they did 2 a year, included).
