Ragnarok II: Welcome The Noel

Players of Ragnarok II will soon be joined by new allies when the game brings its first non-human playable race to live servers on September 11th. Tainted by the now corrupt energy of the tree Yggdrasil, this race may be small, but their mastery of both long and close-range magic make them deadly adversaries and great allies. Welcome the "Noel".

Ragnarok Online 2 Opens Beta in Asia

Ragnarok Online fans may be disappointed today, as the second iteration of the game has launched into Open Beta... but only to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam residents.

Ragnarok Online 2

Ragnarok Online 2 was originally slated to release it's Open Beta on December 27th, 2012 to both North America and the rest of Southeast Asia following it's Korean release earlier last year. Shortly before this date, it was pushed back to January 3rd and noted that the Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam client was more optimized than the worldwide client. Apparently the optimization ended up being a larger roadblock than it originally seemed, as they posted the following statement on the Open Beta announcement for Jan 3rd:

"However, it's with our deepest apologies that we announce we will not be able to provide the RO2 game service to players outside of our optimised countries - Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam - due to our licence agreement with the game's developer, Gravity Co., Ltd."

As of yet, there is no date for Open Beta to hit the worldwide English-speaking market. We may not have to wait too much longer, it appears there is a worldwide client available on their site, even if you cannot access the Beta with it yet.
