Ether Saga Player Wins Design a Mount Contest

Perfect World Entertainment knows that a blog post entitled "My Little Pony from Hell" is sure to draw our attention. The entry reveals that Ether Saga Online player Monaka won the company's recent Design a Mount contest and her fiery Dark Noturno mount has been added to the game.

PWE got the chance to speak with Monaka about her victory, and you can read the interview after the jump. Monaka thanked her Slayers alliance for providing suggestions and fellow member Villette for helping with the coloring of the mount.

Perfect World Entertainment Adds Blog to Site

Perfect World Entertainment has just revamped its site, and the changes include a new blog that promises to "offer a glimpse behind the 'corporate curtain' of PWE and give our users an understanding of who we are, what makes us tick, further insight into our products/features along with the occasional dose of office shenanigans and if you're REALLY fortunate perhaps the recipe for the ultimate Banana-Walnut muffin!"

The blog has already received a ton of updates, including this tidbit from SillyPsyche: "We’re also getting ramped up for some huge releases next year including Forsaken World (formerly project Empire). From what I have seen so far it looks like it’s going to take the gaming experience to a new level. As a former hardcore MMO player I fear for my free time when this one comes out!"

The Perfect World Entertainment portal gives players access to games such as Perfect World, Jade Dynasty, Ether Saga Online, Torchlight, and the upcoming Kung Foo!

Wizard101, Ether Saga Win NAPPA Honor Awards

We've received word from both Perfect World Entertainment and KingsIsle Entertainment that Ether Saga Online and Wizard101 were both named Honors Award winners in the 2009 National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) Children's Products competition. The awards acknowledge that both MMOs are standouts among the video games available for children today.

For an example of the criteria that is sought among judges, here's a quote from NAPPA judge Alex Chisholm regarding Wizard101: "This multi-player online adventure game encourages social activity and collaboration among players. While other online fantasy games may be too mature for some kids, Wizard101 hits a nice balance among fun, adventure and competition as players are summoned to help save Wizard City."

We'd like to congratulate both games for earning these awards. What other family friendly MMOs do you play? Free Realms immediately jumps to mind.
