So ever since the last big patch i have noticed a huge new demand again for the mongoose enchant. what did i miss that re-sparked the interest in this as a viable lvl 80 enchant.

It stopped being popular? O.o I know I took a long break, but as long as I can remember in Wrath, Mongoose has always been popular for certain melee dps.

It's been a popular tanking enchant throughout the expansion. I don't know, perhaps with the removal of armor penetration, suddenly an agility proc became more alluring? Not really an answer, just speculating...

Could it be that Wrathful gear became available without arena rating - including for the first time a generally available PvP weapon?

Well possibly it's that the BiS rogue enchant went from berserker to mongoose. I had to go farm Kara the other week to get mats and the pattern. It's rather annoying to have to use a BC enchant.

My holy paladin has been using the +30 Int (weapon) enchant ever since I learned about it - and ever since I make 250g a week or so selling the scroll. Best ten minutes I ever spent farming for a rare drop...

With the new stat weights for 4.0.1, the +35 Agi (2h weapon) is competitive for use on the stat stick of a SV hunter, and its glow is a different color than everyone else's glow. So I went back and completed a dozen-quest chain and soloed Mechanar and Botanica, just so I could do half of Arcatraz to kill one mob for a basically guaranteed drop. The scroll doesn't sell as well as the Int one, though.

The reason i noticed was that the mongoose scrolls were selling on my local AH for about 200-300g pre patch and 400-550g post patch. Whatever the reason for the change i encourge it.

When did it start proccing for hunters? I was always under the impression that it was worthless to them.

It is, but rusttle is special.

I have to say, I was really hoping Rusttle would come back and try to justify using Mongoose on a hunter. I could use the entertainment.

Mongoose is indeed the best current weapon enchant for rogues, as Agi now gives 2 AP per 1 Agi.

The haste is nice, too.

Was one of the top three enchants for feral DPS the whole expansion.

Tanks always took it as the other choices for tank enchants aren't very compelling.

Wait, isn't agility a stat that hunters stack? My enchanter is maxed out, but she doesn't have that particular enchant, so I'm not familiar with what it does.

On hit enchants for melee weapons suck for hunters. Goose is on hit, drops 100% of the time of Moroes in Kara. Gives Agi and some haste.

Ah, okay that makes sense then since hunters aren't supposed to really use their weapons, other than the bows/crossbows/guns.
