I forgot how awful it is to stare at a spellbookFollow

The nostalgia is great, but I can't help but think I'm wasting precious hours of my life that could be better spent kite surfing or driving fast cars or kissing girls.

But hey, it passes the time, right?

LOTRO...

No spellbookhell.

I do miss EQ...I removed it from my computer just shy of a year ago.

I once thought that, if City of Heroes was ever back somehow, I'd be all over it. Now it's back but, after recreating some character costumes, I can't be bothered. The nostalgia was nice, though!

It's a safe bet that few people who never played before are going to seek out an emulation server.

I half-thought about reinstalling Black Desert Online the other day and immediately asked myself "Ugh, why?" and realized that I didn't have a good answer.

I'm in a couple real-life D&D groups these days so I guess I get all my elves and swords and stuff in there. My video gaming is mainly spend pew-pewing bad guys rather than grinding for gold.

Add Jophiel and Yodabunny to the (short) list of people who can still be rated up.

Maddening, and I am sure it is an Illuminati PlotTM (I don't remember how to make super script, if you can)

Same, I'm about to DM for the first time for my IRL friend group, and also possibly for a group of nerds I met through ESO if we can ever get our **** together.

After watching The Witcher on Netflix, I bought all the games on Steam (thanks, holiday sale!). Currently working my way through those, and also playing a bit of Warframe, which got waaaaay more accessible to newer players since the last time I gave it a whirl.

Watching The Witcher got me to reinstall Witcher 3 and preemptively purchase the expansion pass via the Steam sale even though I played it way back in 2015 and gave up on it. But now I have Cavill-fever! According to PC Gamer, more people are playing it now than when it launched.

Good luck on that D&D campaign. If you're doing one of the official starter campaigns (Lost Mines or Icespire Peak), both are well regarded.

We started with Lost Mine of Phandelver last year, and just completed Hoard of the Dragon Queen tonight. I'm just going from player to DM because our current DM wanted to experience the other side.

Holy **** I spent 3+ hours today planning my first session as DM and I'm probably not even halfway done with the content I think my party will get through.

My heart goes out to all DMs. I appreciate you.

LOL, it gets easier with experience (and as you build up old stuff) but... yeah. I'd spend hours even on the dinky Adventurer's League one-shots I'd run between making maps, printing/readying pawns, printing copies of handouts and reading & re-reading the adventure. And let me tell you, those AL modules desperately need a good editor

I play once a week in the southern half of Naperville and even that's a stretch for me. You're on your own!

(And every two weeks in Plainfield but that's a 5min drive)

Jophiel old friend how's your web development skills these days. You deploying your allakhazam forums on AWS services? As for the kissing girls, I'm getting so much ***** thrown at my face, I'm wondering if I should even shower anymore, oh I don't, just to provide a stench for them to avoid me while I plot a dictatorship.

I removed it too. I also occasionally play LOTRO, but less and less occasionally. My character is stalled at level 79 - I think.

This week I updated and have been playing Don't Starve. This is my go-to when I'm unable to find gaming satisfaction elsewhere.

FYI, as cheesy as it was I loved the Witcher TV show. I really enjoyed the Mandolarian too.

Humans shower/bath way too much. It's a waste of water.

We've lost our smelling ways.

It was highly enjoyable, even as someone who hasn't played the games or read the books. It's also the perfect role for Henry Cavill because he doesn't have to emote.

My only quibble is that the jumps around in time were super confusing, especially since they didn't really try to make the actors look different across time. The queen lady looked exactly the same in every scene.

I tried playing The Witcher on my PC but the camera swing gave me a stomach ache - I'm finding this to be the case with more and more games as the graphics get more fluid. I think I'm going to get a console and hopefully avoid the squeasies. I'm just SO undecided on which to get. Both kids have xboxes, but I'm such a Ninetendo fanboi (who isn't!!) I'm this close {..} to getting a Switch.
