It's bizarre, these people can only speak in absolutes and superlatives. How can anybody expect to take them seriously?

I mean, we've had four Presidents assassinated, and credible plots or attempts against 14 others (that we know about). But, yeah, people are mean to Trump on Twitter, so he's the martyr. Smiley: oyvey

And even if that were the standard, he hasn't seen anything like the vitriol directed against Obama and his family.

You mean the vitriol *he* directed against Obama and his family?

To be fair, Trump did threaten to kill any one of us in broad daylight just to prove he could get away with it. Haranguing the Obamas is pretty mellow by comparison.

I'm waiting for Obama to send interns to New York insisting on finding the real birth certificate of that animal hibernating on 45's head.

I have a theory it was made in Russia.

So I've been playing the crap out of this BATTLETECH game... I kinda forgot all about this stuff from the 90s.. It's kinda rekindled my inner 10 year old "BIG ROBOTS!" wonderment again. Also pretty well done turn-based strategy with good management system.

I bought that because during my work from home days I decided to put on Transformers DVDs and then later looked to see any good Transformers game.. the one that seemed worth any of my attention apparently was no longer available anywhere... eventually I looked into Mech games.. and this one had just come out!
But then, because the game was done on Unity engine.. it reminded me so much of Wasteland 2... which I had never finished (used to play Wasteland on C64).... Then playing Wasteland made me pick up Fallout again for awhile... so only just now have started playing Battletech..

Anyway.. It's awesome. That is all. Smiley: grin

Speaking of Fallout, I saw the new Mission Impossible this weekend. Despite the ridiculous lack of Rad Roaches, Mirelurks, Death Claws, and Super Mutants it's not bad. More of the same from the last couple of movies, so if you liked those, you should like this one too.

That's still a shot to the face, just has to go through the head first. Slightly longer route. Same Destination. Smiley: smile

So let's say a bullet goes in the back of the head and gets lodged in someone's cheekbone, but never actually breaks the skin and comes out the front. Is that still a face shot? Or does it have to do something to the front of the face?

Hm, yeah, so it was sort of to the back of his face.

Same as Lincoln, at nearly point blank range. Ballistics do change over time, don't they.

I'm convinced they decided to name it that to get attention of gamer.. Smiley: tinfoilhat

Red Letter Media recommended it for the glorious action schlock that it is.
These days I seem to enjoy movies more vicariously through those hack frauds....

Y'know I have not seen ANY new Star Wars movies.. not even Force Awakens... but I am getting so much enjoyment from the counter-cultural backlash I feel no desire whatsoever to (maybe a bit) to see any of the movies... Or most new movies..

Last time went to a theater it hit me as I sat down... I just spent $18 to see a movie.. then it was so LOUD I nearly went an complained..... I'm becoming so OLD!!!!!!!

It's very odd when your mother posts a rant about her mother-in-law pressuring her to get an abortion as a teenager. It's even more odd when the baby was you and you never knew that story...

My mom and dad married at 16 and 19. My dad's mom did not like my mother at all (even as an adult, they didn't get along), and thru a facebook rant I learned today that not only did my grandmother not want my dad to marry my mom, she wanted her to get an abortion... I'm not sure how I feel about that. Let alone reading it on facebook. I just happened to check facebook this week after a coworker was showing me a video...

Sounds like someone's nursing home is going to be one of the ones the news investigates.

Don't have to worry about a nursing home for the grandmother. She died about a month ago, give or take. We had been estranged from her and that side of the family for a good 10 years or so due to her feelings toward my mother.

Good of you to avoid bad influences like that and make something productive of yourself though. I can't really imagine what that kind of environment is like so I can't really say anything. My family is loud, rude, and violent but never in a way that I'd ever want to avoid them for the rest of my life.

My dad was in the Navy. So we didn't live near any of my family for most of my childhood. Visiting everyone during the summer breaks for a few weeks. Most of the congrats go to my parents who kept us kids out the loop. And I never suspected anything between my grandmother and parents growing up. I had mostly fond memories from childhood. It wasn't until graduating from high school that I understood that my grandmother would continually imply that my mother was unfaithful, was poor trash that had trapped my father in high school, that I wasn't my dad's kid, etc.
