I am so angry! I was running errands and my boyfriend asked me if I could bring him a soda and some snacks up to work. We work at the same place, I work during the week and he just works weekends. I get up there, run inside the building, talk to him for a minute, and come back out to the car. In the minutes I was inside the building, some low-life degenerate took my wallet and a full pack of cigarettes out of the car. The drivers door was unlocked (which is completely my fault, I know), and all of my things were sitting in the cup holder. My question is, how the hell could someone see something in the car?! My windows are tinted as dark as legally allowed and still pass inspection. I called the police and filed a report. Cancelled all of my credit/debit cards. My biggest worry right now is my drivers license and social security card. Someone knows where I live now. I have identity theft protection/monitoring through my bank so when I was on the phone cancelling all my cards, I also talked to an Identity theft agent. As my Daddy always says(how redneck of me), "Ain't nothing worse than a God-d*mn thief!"

Why do you not carry your wallet with you always?

If I'm awake, my wallet is on me. Never really understood why people take them out and put them places.

I usually do. I have a guy wallet and it is usually always in my back pocket since I don't carry a purse or anything. I was at the gym right before I ran up there and yoga pants have no pockets.

This may come as shock to you, but nobody cares where you live. They saw an easy theft opportunity and took it, and that's going to be the end of it. Your license along with the wallet is most likely in a public trash can somewhere. Take this as a opportunity to learn to be more careful in the future.

Don't need to see in the car to see if the door is open.

Bummer Delva.

Hard lesson, but at least they didn't take the whole car.

You left your wallet out in the open of your unlocked car. That story just writes itself.

Smiley: disappointed

The obvious solution is to always carry a gun. Smiley: nod

More serious note: sorry to hear about it, that's a bummer of luck, even if you did help bring it on yourself. Hope it all works out fine in the end.
