Wow, I must have been out of it. I didn't notice til today that you had posted a new story. This is excellent as I need something to read right now. Smiley: nod

The vicious look on her face seemed entirely out of place on a gnome.

Obviously your main character doesn't quite understand the true sinister nature of gnomes. Smiley: laugh

I have to be honest. There's nothing in the world quite like sitting at work at 1am, with an eyepatch on your eye(long story) and a piece of kleenex shoved up your nose(I have a cold and managed to make my nose bleed) reading about lesbians while sipping chamomile tea.

Lulz. I got so excited when I noticed that someone had posted something new that I forgot why I clicked into this thread in the first place. I finally got around to posting my latest chapter tonight.

Chapter 7: She Who Fights Monsters

For those of you who haven't read any of the previous ones.

I'm not sure if it's my absolute favorite quest, but I recently did the Klaven's Tower quest line for the Rogue class. At first I couldn't figure out what to do. Usually I'd go to here or thottbot if I get stuck, but for whatever reason I just popped open the quest log and it told me to read the diary.

Well, I actually read the thing and it was fairly interesting. It said something about the artifact having some sort of effect on the nearby guards. That's when it struck me. I remembered seeing a funny looking guard patrolling outside. I was going to test out my ambush ability to finally see how that worked out. Then I noticed another shiny little button on my stealth bar that I'd forgotten about. Poof! Got the key without even having to kill the guy. This must be what opens that chest inside!

So I go back up to the top of the tower, clearing people as I go. To my dismay, I still cannot open the chest. It seems the key is to something else. If only I had a Rogue to open this... DOH! I am a rogue. This is a rogue quest. I need to use my rogue skills -- duh! Unfortunately my Lockpicking skill was 0. I remembered I had a quest in Lakeshire that had something to do with picking a lock so I went there and completed that. Conveniently there were practice chests that allowed me to open chests until level 75.

Normally I'd be peeved at having to hearth, go all the way to Lakeshire to do a quest, and then back to Westfall to get the item. For some reason though, I had a blast doing these rogue quests. There's one more part to the chain to go and I look forward to when when I get some time not raiding/crafting. I think the reason I've taken a liking to these quests are that you have to use skills and tactics you don't usually get to play with. How often do you get to sneak up behind someone to pickpocket them or use your lockpicking skills for a quest. I'm hoping that even after the Rogue class quests, these abilities will open new possibilities for me. For example, if the quest objective is to kill a guy to steal his item, maybe instead I could pickpocket it. I'm no pacifist, so I'll be sure to kill him after I pickpocket the item. :)

Cortello's Riddle!

Going across the world and finding specific locations just by reading a vague text is quite tricky and quite refreshing!

Haven't completed it yet so will have to take a raincheck on the story until I have.

It saddens me that we've gone so long without a new post here. Will give rateups for new things to read. Smiley: nod

I've almost finished the next chapter of my horrible fanfiction, so I'll post that when I'm done. And I'd like to remind everyone to start thinking about your Halloween story this year. I'll probably hold another contest and it'll likely be similar to the one from this year, so if you're interested in entering, I'd definitely think ahead.

Riding to the front lines of battle at the Dark Portal, where great demons and mortals clash, Grashlok noticed out of the corner of his eye an Orc. The Orc was a little weary, it seemed, as he was sitting down. He was in full battle garb, mace in hand. Grashlok knew he must ride further, but something about this Orc seemed to call him.

It was too great to pass up Grashlok decided. Grashlok dismounted off his wolf and walked to the Orc. As he came to the Orc he noticed a peculiar aura about the Orc, but thought nothing of it. Walking up to the Orc Grashlok stuck out his hand and said calmly, "Come, old one, it is time to get up." The Orc put out his hand for Grashlok to grab, but, as Grashlok went to grab for it to help the Orc up, Grashlok's hand went straight through the Orc's hand. Grashlok gasped, backed up and drew his daggers.

"Calm down," the Orc said while standing, "I am your friend. And I'm in need."

Grashlok did not sheath his weapons. "You're nothing but an apparition. Who are you?"

"I'm Trebor, young one. My souls knows no rest, which is why I wander here."

"What do you need from me?"

"I was the leader in a raid into the Blasted Lands. Nineteen of my men fell in battle. Had it not been for an ambush by Murlocs, orders would have gotten to me to tell me not to venture into these ill-begotten lands. But it is all in the past now. I want you to help free my men from the clutches of the demons. I have escaped the demons' grasps, but my soul knows no rest. All nineteen of them still reside in the Blasted Lands."

Grashlok took an easier stance, but still weary.

"And what of the demons after I help your men?"

"Orc, if you can get there, then I have plans to destroy the demons that bind my men and help eradicate the Blasted Lands from the evil that resides there."

"Trebor, I was just riding into the Blasted Lands to fight against the demons coming from the Dark Portal. I will see what I can do to free your men and bring you peace."

I'm attempting to do a mock-up of the Fallen Hero of the Horde quest line. I'm not that great at writing in third person, but it's doing alright I suppose. I'll have fun writing this I think.

Mostly focusing on the characters and not the quest, but here you go -- story sorta-kinda based on this quest.

You know, at this point, I'm just happy to see new stories, so don't worry that it's more character than quest focused. I'll have to check it out after I eat(about a minute til pizza's done).

Edit: that's pretty awesome. Can't wait to see how it continues.

For the two people actually reading my bad fanfiction, I've posted up my almost completed 8th chapter of The Lore of Poldaran. Again, I must stress that it's not done, but since I moved a copy of it over here, I thought I'd share that with ya.

Edit: If you want to read an older one, here's the link to the table of contents.

Been doin' some writing and questing on various characters, here's a story I wrote for a quest that I've had fun with.

The quest line in the Mightstone Quarry was my inspiration for this one.

Added a new story. One May Challenge. It's the story I entered into the Blizz Writing Contest.

Since you're seeing it here, obviously I didn't win. Smiley: frown
