My infrequent play over the last few months kept me out of the loop during the change over from SOE to DayBreak. It also kept me out of the loop about things that were taking place within the Butcher Block server. In this case I'm referring to the closure of the Norrath Crafters Alliance.
This was a wonderful tier-3 guild located off the Antonica dock. Redhare Stepchild was instrumental in helping to put together this guild and opened it to public access so that anyone that needed a place to craft would be able to do so. Access was given to the supply depot, many crafting stations were conveniently placed, all the writ agents were nearby, as well as the fuel merchant. As a courtesy Redhare did ask that from time to time that the harvestables be replenished, even posting on a sign what tier levels were most necessary at the time.
I had a few opportunities to actually converse in game with Redhare, and expressed my gratitude for having generously provided a place for unguilded crafters to hone their skills. I did this by paying plat, though she said it was not necessary, and also taking the time to add harvestables to the supply depot when I was able. Sadly, not everyone that availed themselves of the free access to craft in the NCA guild hall felt they had to contribute anything in return.
Redhare posted a sign at the entrance that reads:
"It is with sadness that after three years NCA is no more. As long as there is status on the door I'll pay the rent, but when that runs out the doors close for good."
All good things come to an end, I suppose. I want to express my thanks to Redhare Stepchild and the Norrath Crafters Alliance.
