Is every character type able to perform recipe activities?
Or do I need to choose a special character for this, like mystic?
(Maybe fighters like bruiser are not able do this?)

Is every character type able to perform recipe activities?

By recipe activities, do you mean crafting/tradeskilling? Making things from raw materials?

There is no class restriction for which tradeskill class you pick. Any adventure class can choose to be whichever tradeskill class they want! :) For example, my Swashbuckler is a Tailor, which doesn't really do her much good (aside from the bags). http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/Crafting_Classes_%28EQ2%29
