The cap appears to be "level 2" upgrade weapons, and L50 cap. I assume they will add some additional content for the NPC's in a later update. I'd love an ironic final battle where I have to fight my NPC.

Mine is quite the opposite--she changes armor every single outing; ranging from Starting Gear to Scale to Eisenbrust. I haven't killed my NPC nor dropped my pearl since the update. I wonder if different NPC "personalities" have different frequencies of changing armor.

My npc use to wear the same old stuff for a few calls until I change her back to shield. I had her on as attacker and her armor just wouldnt change for 4-5 outings. I switch back to shield and armor change the next time I called her.

Hopefully with the coming update we'll get something to add to this thread.

Actually I know some people in game that haven't even done this quest.

Wow, I didn't realise that this thread was even still going. I've been away from the game for 5 weeks now and have another 3 to go before I am back, but starting tomorrow I will be updating the Original post with info from the last 50 threads or so since I last updated, including removing the dual wield post, since it appears that it can only be done with moon at 101%, lol. I'm sorry for getting people's hopes up and I'll give my friend a slap when I'm back on the game.

Here is the info from the above post for anyone who is too lazy to click on the link (it will also be added to the first post once I find the info from POL main site).

Additions to the Fellowship System

The version update in early October will bring the following changes to the Fellowship system:

-Several Fellowship quests will be added, including one that raises the NPC's level restriction.
-There will be an increase in the variety of equipment worn by the NPC.
-Extra conversational options will be available at the Rendezvous Point.
-There will be more fighting styles to choose from.
-More information will be displayed on screen, such as the NPC's hit points.

These changes and more will be included in the upcoming version update. Details may be found on the FINAL FANTASY XI main page as soon as they are released.

I have a question. I'm unable to trade Luto a new weapon for my NPC. I've gotten the cutscene where she tells me she'll give it to him, and I've had him out about 10 times (could be more, I've lost track). But when I try and trade the weapon to Luto, nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing here?
