Im Checkhing this out for a possible Mob that will have to fall in order for a {Great Katana} upgrade, Im new to FXI XBOX 360 30WHM/28DRG/26SAM. Id say the hardest thing Ive faced would be the Petrifying Pair BCNM (Not sure on name....) But those fights are nothing liek these must be. Reraiseaga 0_o*omg Anyway my question, IS there alot of this stuff going on all the time?? Ive never been on a big public server yet, I was just hoping that it wouldnt be like organizing an ECO trip and it taking 5 hours!! Is this normal on bigger servers, and if not is this a Katana I Should just forget about getting and hold out for Onimaru?? This thread might be dead but any help would be appreciated.

onimaru sucks. This is best done with a good linkshell, the basic plan is to kite the chlevnik, let the PLDs get hate, then when it stops to cast meteor, the DDs go crazy, and whoever has hate continues to kite it. you keep doing this till its 3%-1%, then everyone near it dies.

To organize a safe, successful KS99 can take days, even weeks.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 30 2005 at 4:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Won two of these today. The first one was a close call the second we whizzed through. First one took 25 min and we had our eye on the timer. Second one took 17 min because we caught on a little better and had a better stategy. Not going to give away the strategy...make your own. :P His super meteor when he is near death is a killer. I don't think anyone within his AOE took less than 1500 dmg and up to 2529 dmg (ouch). He does this ~3% life or less.

no way 2 ninjas is gonna keep hate off 5 blm and 5 rng, they are gonna pull hate, get meteor, and die
A Nice Experience

My LS tried this fight on Caitsith... We were doing pretty good but only got him halfway down before time expired. It wasn't really the ideal setup to win flawlessly; it was for fun but we tried to win nevertheless. All Lvl. 72+, setup was 1 BLM/RDM, 2 RNG/NINs, 1 SAM/THF, 1 PLD/WAR, 2 NIN/WARs, 2 WHM/SMNs, 2 RDM/BLMs, 2 BRD/WHM, 1 DRK/THF, 2 WAR/NINs, 1 MNK/WHM, and a THF/NIN who couldn't enter the BCNM cause he was to slow ; ;

The tanking for this fight is pretty easy. For damage he didn't hit me to hard as 75PLD 100~ per normal hit and 200~ for crits. Barfira DID help to resist Meteor for the most part. Roughly 400~ damage when Barfira was up and Meteor got casted. But unresisted Meteors led me to take up to 1803 damage at one point :/. Took Shadows from NIN pretty fast so multiple tanks is definetly a great idea for this fight. PLD/WAR pr NIN/WAR can tank this pretty much the same.

Stunners are not worth it in this fight... he resisted almost every Stun we threw at him.

It's not bulletproof but it's the best setup in my opinion. My suggested setup for this fight next time would probably be...

Party A - 5 RNG/NIN, 1 BRD/WHM
Party B - 5 BLM/RDMorWHM, 1 BRD/WHM
Party C - 2 WHM/SMN, 2 NIN/WAR, 1 RDM/BLM, 1 BRD/WHM

The main idea is to kill it before time expires as he really doesn't hit *that* hard. BRD Prelude or Minuet the RNGs. Let NINs get some hate together, and then let the RNGs go. BLM/RDM is pretty handy in this fight as you could have essentially 6 ES Gravities in this fight with this setup. Let them nuke obviously, when out of MP rest in the Arena and let the BRD obviously Ballad. Have the 2 NINs kite back and forth up and down the ramp endlessly till the Behemoth dies. Let the RDM/BLM approach first and throw off ES Gravity. WHMs cure and what not... obviously lol. BRD ballad mages and March the NINs at start.

For tanking strat pretty basic kiting but I'll explain it. Have NIN#1 voke the Behemoth from his starting position and run all the way to the bottom of the ramp. Have NIN#2 follow the Behemoth down the ramp and take hate once NIN#1 reaches the bottom. Then have NIN#2 with the Behemoth's hate run back up the ramp with NIN#1 following. Then let NIN#1 follow the Behemoth and take hate once NIN#2 has reached the top and bring it back down. Continue that till the fight is over and it -should- be a sure win.

The MOST important thing everyone needs to remember is to RUN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU GET HATE this includes mages. If you stand at any time near him and he starts casting Meteor and you don't start running you're going to get hit. You CAN outrun Meteor IF YOU ARE RUNNING WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE HATE. And if his target runs out of range... he WILL interrupt casting that Meteor. And last but not least have everyone use some sort of Reraise armor/spell, it helps SO much.

duh...

Without the time limit, we would have easily won.

thats why they put time limits... bcnms aren't supposed to be easy.

This guy is not as hard as you say it is. I (75 taru BLM) can take a hit from him without being one-shotted. He does like to cast meteor a lot, but if you are kiting him up and down the hill you should be running away anyway unless you are casting a spell. The only thing that could kill an alliance instantly would be his "finishing move" that deals 2k~ damage to anyone within Meteor AoE range, but that only happens once you kill him, so someone should have reraise up anyway.

This BC also gives Behemoth Tongues the Black Belt item.

Agreed... Once we got a strat going for this it's pretty easy. Kills are like 13-15 minutes now. The ending AoE is pretty impressive definately.

not too hard at all

Our LS fought him the other week, did 5 or 6 runs (lost 1 because POL crapped out...gg SE). He's fairly easy as long as the plds have hate and rdms keep gravity stuck on him. Just kite him up and down the hill leading to the arena. Didn't take us anymore the 20 mins each round. Drops were ok, we got 1 shining cloth and lots of horns and hides, depending on your luck you might be better off just doing KS30 for v claws, however this is much more fun then fighting 6 little scorpions.
Ouch...

Fought him last night, definately not fun. He spams meteor like you wouldn't believe, it's probably 60-70% as strong as KB's meteor...but at least twice as many casts and he also casts it faster.

However, I had no problem with debuffs at level 72. Silence didn't stick ever (maybe at 75 with Em/Seal,) but para/slow/grav stuck fine and seemed to proc well.

We brought no stunners, just rangers. Anyone know how well Stun works on this beast?

Behemoth type mobs are lightning based, as is the "Stun" spell. It's like trying to silence a wind elemental.. not gonna happen.

The Dynamis Lord? He's in Dynamis-Xarcabard, near the entrance to what would be Castle Zvahl. I'm assuming he has pop NMs like the other dynamises.

From what I hear this is the HARDEST NM in the game. w/an alliance of 18 he will slaughter u within 5 minutes. He's stronger than KB and all the gods. One HNMLS on my server faught him 3 times and lost instatly each time. I also hear even the best of all HNM JPN groups can't beat him. I would like to be proven wrong, hopefully theres a vid out there of him being killed.
