First, understand that I had not used this zone. With internal map, started with the team challenge, parking the Beastlord in Tranquility at the zone to Air. Zoned in with 100 Ranger and tank mercenary. Made waste of the entry area mobs moved to the early part of the tunnel, camped out, and brought Beastlord to same place and camped out the Beastlord. Reentered the Ranger and explored the tunnel, tracked Spiritfrenzied Phoenix to an area which I did not know how to get to with previous advice that the phoenix area was three clusters straight in. Gated Ranger and Beastlord out.

Located a mirrored copy of EQ Atlas map of the zone, loving the simple drawings, making it easy to see zone pathways. Applied the location given for Spiritfrenzied Phoenix neg 730, pos 600, pos 440. Pinpointed on the EQ Atlas map the only possible location of the phoenixes. Indeed it is three clusters in, not counting the entry area, but definitely not straight. Nothing is straight in this zone. For extra clarity, after clearing the entry area, head into the arched entry to the tunnel. From there you go on a ziz-zag path south-east to first cluster. You need to clear only the north east part of that open area. Exit east and proceed south to the next cluster. Here you need to clear only the eastern or western half of the cluster; this one with air elementals in it. Walk west to the next encounter. The third cluster is inhabited by phoenixes. It is necessary to clear only the south west corner. It was said elsewhere that the Spiritfrenzied Phoenix would not add. I found that to be false. It aggroed as I was clearing to make way for the Beastlord to do the one kill needed for the quest.

In proceeding through the zone, Ranger did the killing, camping out for the entry of the Beastlord to move to the last part of cleared area. There were four occasions when Ranger camped out to allow the Beastlord to move unthreatened to the new area. Since the Ranger could not avoid killing Spiritfrenzied Phoenix, I thought that there might be a 15 minute delay before Beastlord could loot needed clay. However, the corpse provided instant access to the Beastlord. Goal accomplished with alt team participation.

This mob is a very easy kill. Had 5 in group and probably could have soloed it. I am a bazaar geared toon so not at all uber. This guy does only hit for a max of 600. 35k hitpoints sounds about right.

That having been said, getting to this mob is a lot tougher than taking him out. The toughest part is the zone in. I was trying this solo and got my butt handed to me twice. First off, I never did POP Progression so since they nixed flagging, this was my first time ever in PoAir. I must admit I was completely unprepared for the mobs at the ZI and did not realize when you kill them, they spawn 1-3 other mobs. Also, I was unprepared for the fact that sometimes, the additional spawned mobs can be nameds. The mobs don't hit hard, but the little adds are a pain. So let's just say there as a lot of trial and error for me. Finally, I decided to forget soloing and brought along a mage a cleric and a shammy. The whole thing was a cake walk at that point!

Moral of the story? Bring a couple friends whenever you travel in PoAir. It just makes life a lot easier.

Confirmed, does not aggro while clearing trash mobs. Duo'ed with a 78bst and 80wiz, semi-CoA geared. estimated 35k hps.

The trash mobs were significantly harder.
Rogue pulling

We tried it 06/Feb/08. Having a rogue SoS pull it to ZI didn't work for us. When the rogue made it back to the ZI, the mob would not follow.

When the rogue hung around for the mob to keep up, Pheonix would cast two spells on him:

Armour Break (dot) which breaks hide/ SoS each tick.
Shackles (root).

So I don't see how rogue pulling can still work. Either you get rogue alive at ZI with no mob, or you get dead rogue. Maybe rogue pulling has been nerfed since that info was posted. We attempted the pull four times. 2x no mob, 2x dead rogue.

Can anyone confirm?

Tried to get to Spiritfrenzied clearing with 78 bst and necro. At first intersection there are unfortunately multiple bunched up mobs who hit for 1k and assist. They made short work of both of us :p

Seriously, how that bst below managed to solo this I really have no idea. All these mobs are SI, so you can't avoid them. If he could really kill 2 or 3 1k hitting mobs at a time, well, I'd like to take lessons from him :D I sure can't.

Nope, I'm going to have to wait until I can get a proper group here. Tank, healer, puller, rogue for grabbing Spiritfrenzied. Biggest difficulty is finding people who are elemental flagged, since most players skip PoP these days.

Just got done taking this guy out. Thought i'd give a little more info. I soloed him as a 75 beastlord without a bit of trouble. 800ish AA, full COA gear, and a tough pet, but i think it was overkill. Highest hit on me was around 600, couldn't really get a lock on his hitpoints, but if you can handle one of the lower level named in BOT you can take this guy without trouble.

No ramp, no flurry, seemed to hit pretty slow. If youre well geared and can get there you should be able to take him out easy as long as you can get him as a single pull.

Straight through the first intersection, 3rd big clearing you come to which is full of phoenix birds, mob is on the left there at (-730, +600, +440). Yes only 5 in the group need to be flagged for Air to pull in a 6th.

EASY Kill
# Jun 07 2006 at 6:32 AM Rating: Decent
All I did was get a rogue w/ a range item. He simply shot it and before the arrow hit he hid again. The mobs dont assist the Spiritfrenzied Pheonix so just run him down with SoS. Easy kill for a group waiting at the entrance. Went down in less that 10 seconds.

How many HP?
How many does it take to take down?
Flurries/Ramp/Rage?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I can only say that repop is less than 4-5 hours, because we killed it for a friend and then I camped solo near entrance of isle. I came back only 4-5 hours after and it was up, got rid off the bird who attacked me, cleaned near epic mob ( epic mob dont add on pull ) then I killed it and looted epic part.

GL on fight !
