do NOT head shot this mob, if he doesn't run his full script the chest won't spawn and you have to collect the brains again.

60% - 1 add spawns
30% - 2 adds spawn
20% - 2 adds spawn
10% - he depops and chest spawns
After killing and looting chest a second chest with loot spawns

Helped a guildie kill him today and discovered that he is vulnerable to Headshot. Bring a Ranger with Headshot rank 12 or higher and watch the 65,100 hits burn him down.

Balance of Discord (slow) stuck to him at the start of the fight, but my 81 shammy box was not able to land anything for the rest of the fight, including Malo AA. Mage was able to land Mala, however, but it didn't seem to do any good.

So there i was reading how nothing in this event summons. . .Well my first question that came to mind was Kiteable? So i said hell with it and ran my bard and cleric out to WL. I had cleric cast DA then did hand in started doting with the bard but was unable to get agro off of my cleric. So of course da wears off and the cleric gets torn apart from ear to ear. Alas though bard had aggro and started running that **** around. He is a resistant ******* but slowly i worked his *** down to 96% and knew this would be the longest fight in history lol. So i called on a friend to come in and help do some dps with his Wiz. He comes out there and sits in one place while i kite the mob back and forth by him so he could nuke the **** out of him. Well to make a long story short his dps helped a ton we had him down to 82% not too long after he showed up and then BAM i ran into a tree and I was dead lol.

Now I did get a few times before that so its not like hes a real bad ***. He hits fast but his hits were ussually in the 400 area with 2100ac. I wish there werent as many dam trees there or I woulda made a meat cake outta him. I would like to try it again but im not sure I will as getting the brains is a hassle. . .not hard just a hassle lol im lazy

highest hit my parser said was 890 damage on full anguish+ tank. pretty trivial.

his ramp appears AE, and it appears to be a full-strength ramp as I see max hits of 1000 on many other of the melee who were dps'ing on him.

handle the adds smartly (ie. get off DDM when they pop) and keep the DDM out of ramp range of the squishies.

A lot of incorrect information on this page. As of today when I did this with a group and a half it was 4 minions. Also, nothing in this encounter summons so if you get close to wiping kite around until you get things back under control. Thanks to the rest of the Knights of Dark Shadows for this awesome fight.

Just 1 grp's this event last night for my alt's 1.5...

Grp set up:
75 Warrior 1600AAs- Anguish/Demi gear
74 Druid 300ish AAs- Semi Anguish/DoN gear (boxed by warrior)
75 Shaman 900AAs- Anguish gear
72 Enchanter 150ish AAs- Non-raid geared
75 Wizard 500AAs- Anguish gear
74 Cleric 100AAs- Non-raid geared (boxed by wizard)

Was a close fight, very fun though. Warrior tanked DDM and Plavo's Remains with Defensive Disc. At 30% when the skellies pop'd the chanter and shaman aggro'd them off and kited them around. 26% Wizard used MB4 knocking DDM to 15% ish, Warrior pop'd DPS disc and Dark Disciple didn't stand a chance.

Very fun, probably my most favorite boxed event our little group has done so far.

Anyone know the respawn of Plavo after he is killed? Found post saying on fail he respawns a couple min after fail.

I believe 2 hours, bud. Not completely sure, but most 1.5 end fights are 2 hours.. could be wrong... any confirmation would be great.

What is respawn time on this event?? We have 5 alt cleric in are guild at this point. Would be nice to get them all there drops in 1 night like we did with Lfay fight.

Done with 25 people on Tribunal the other night (not in ep/time/god/anguish,etc.. yet either). Was a fun fight.

Best place to set up is in the geonid caves slightly to the north of where plavo spawns.

There as a corner which can be used for tanking readily available. Have a warrior follow you out to tag ddm when you turn in your brains (make sure you da). Warrior drags ddm back to cave and sets up in corner.

Disease slow works well. Didn't try nihil.

Rampage is aoe, so max melee is improtant. Deathly chants is slightly annoying but not a huge deal in reality, as it only decreases your maximum mana by 1500. Feel free to set up a rotation within range. The dot is only 100 hp a tick, and as such is kinda trivial.

Somewhere between 60-70 % plavo's remains will spawn (reaper model). Offtank and kill it.

Resume killing the ddm. At 30% he spawns skellies. These may be a percentage based spawn, or a time based spawn. Initially I saw two, but at the end of the fight there were as many as 7. Have a Sk or two ae hate and run them off. Have two or 3 enchanters chain dispell at 30% to prevent him from mitigating.

The ddm despawns at 10%. A gilded chest will spawn which needs to be lockpicked or beaten to death. You may not loot until all of the skeletons that you have aggro on are dead or despawned.

Upon looting the aegis, another chest will spawn with attuneable loot.

Raidforce was 32, mixture of gear levels from ornate to God. 13 ish buffed warrior with epic tank.

We did this event last night and at around 30% or so I started slapping lifetap on him since everything else was resisting besides my magic based spells. Before I knew it I was down to about 20% health and had low life agro and killed. Scrolling up I noticed that I had been hitting MYSELF with lifetap, so I assume he has some sort of spell reflection shield at some point in the event. Can anyone else confirm this?

From 2.0 quest info:

It hits for 1-2k per swing, procs Deathly Chants every 18 seconds, is very difficult to slow, is unmezzable, rampages, and is highly magic resistant. At 60-70% health, it will spawn Plavo`s Remains, which flurries for 1k and is slowable but unmezzable. Kill this and go back to killing the Dark Disciple Master. At 30% health, it will spawn several (up to twelve) of Minion of the Master, which hit for 700, are slowable/snareable but unmezzable. At 10% health the Dark Disciple Master casts mitigate and rampages (proc names?).

We were not able to slow the Dark Disciple. The adds were slowable with disease-based slow... but most importantly, there are not even close to twelve Minions of the Master. Whoever added that tidbit of info was completely off the mark. I believe there were two. Off tank them.

The AE from DD was somewhat weak, but it was a small range anyways, so casters are able to stay out of it.
