For you guys who are looking to harvest this stuff, you can find it in Giddeus from G-10 to about J-12. That's the general area for higher Yagudo, so if you want to score a Chest or two, or pick up more necklaces, you're in luck.
This week on Fairy all nations are tied at first place. Results: No airports sell this. In fact, their stocks show like they're all in last place. Lol.
In my humble opinion I say that SE needs to let it be possible to GROW Flax Flowers. I mean, when you think about it, IT'S A FLOWER! And by all means, the only useful flower (rose, ect...) in the game! And we grow all those other flowers when we don't want to and we always have to find some idiot to sell them to or give them to someone or just throw them out. Come on SE! Its time to make growing flowers NOT A WASTE OF TIME!!!
OK today on Gilgamesh San d'Oria is ranked first in the balance of power. I am Windurstian. I visit the NPC shop in San d'Oria run by Albinie right by the airship. Theoretically the NPC should be selling Flax Flowers but I check, re-check, and even completely logout and log back in and check ... no Flax Flowers (although other items were present). I stop a Japanese player who happens to be from San d'Oria and ask him if he can see Flax Flowers for sale from Albinie (harder to do than it sounds with the auto-translater). He can! So he agrees to buy them from Albinie and sell to me through his bazaar. It worked great for the moment, but why couldn't I purchase them?
My theories of the problem include: * San d'Orian nationality is required to buy * I do not have enough Conquest points or fame * It was a rare, unexplainable glitch
I doubt it's an issue with fame, since I have enough to do RSE and the gobbie bag quests. As for the glitch idea, I did everything I could to get rid of it if it was a glitch, but no luck. So I am thinking that, maybe because of the latest patch, I have to be from the first ranked nation to buy the items. What do you think?
Okay, but I am pretty sure that I have been able to buy Flax Flowers in San d'Oria before as a Windurstian. Ah well, gotta wait for windy to come in first place again then ;)
Flax flowers can be purchased at the airship vendor of whatever nation is ranked #1 in the conquest. Price varies from 225-270 depending on your fame level in the city they are being sold in.
harvesting should definitely be left to the weavers, its too time consuming to just sell the things u get. Unlike mining, the points are alot more random and can be found in various places, like next to a hut or right by a river. In mining they are always right next to the walls. In giddeus, its best to do something else then just harvest, u should maybe kill random yagudos for their necklaces for weaving,if not u will be spending alot of time running around a bit aimlessly, so better have flee ;)
go to www.cannotlinkto/ffxi there is a link in the maps area for minning, logging, excavating, and harvesting. there is a map of all harvesting points in Saruta and giddeus
Unless you are into clothcraft, harvesting seems not to give enough gil. Of course, I am a weaver.... so, it works for me, I get my materials for free.... This post will ruin the AH!!! Thus, making these materials even cheaper!! (Evil Laugh)
Where are the harvesting points in Giddeus, generally speaking? I've only ever seen one, and since I didn't have sickles with me and was in a mission party that was eager to finish, I didn't get the chance to harvest from it, or mark it.
Are they generally spread out and just about anywhere, like mining points in most places, or are they fairly well concentrated like the harvest points outside or the logging points in Ghelsba?
I get this quite a bit in W. Sarut. Cotton, and Moko grass are more common, but I've only been out a few times, and have over 24 in stock.
Here's the deal with harvesting points from my experiance. There are two paths that run parallel to each other. one is on a ridge in front of the outpost (about G7). The other is along the road from the outpost to Giddius and along the ridge (G5-E6). THERE IS NO SPAWNING TIME. Once a harvest point has been harvested another one will spawn somewhere along the oposite path. If you bring along a friend, you can each work an oposite path, and bounce the points back and forth to each other. This is much faster than doing both paths yourself, and the harvest is excelent. It's like a giant game of ping pong!
I've been Sickeling all day. All I got in Gid. is Moko Grass and a few cotton. In SW I've gotton all sorts of stuff. Crawler Cocoons, Wijnruit, Flax Flowers= 12 in 1hr, and some seeds.
