WOW Zone:Stormwind City

The city of Stormwind stands as the last bastion of Human power in Azeroth. Rebuilt after the Second War, Stormwind is a marvel of Human design and engineering. Stormwind's guards keep the peace within the city's walls, while the young king, Varian Wrynn, rules from his mighty keep, surrounded by his guards and his son, Anduin Wrynn. Lady Katrana Prestor can be found in a side room near the king. The Bazaar District bustles with trade from across the continent and beyond, while warriors of every sort can be found wandering the streets of Old Town. Unaffected by the ravages of the Scourge in the north, Stormwind still faces its own threats, both from the outside world and from within the city's confines. The new Stormwind Harbor provides easy access to zone: Darkshore] and Borean Tundra, and it stands as another testament to the versatility of an already busy city.

Stormwind City is located north of Elwynn Forest on Azeroth's northwest coast, and is the largest human city of Azeroth. However it also influences other territories, which include Elwynn Forest and Northshire Valley, the Redridge Mountains, Westfall and Duskwood. The city is named for the occasional squalls in the mountains around the city.

Stormwind firmly supports and defends the interests of the Alliance and its warriors, priests, paladins and mages have all served in the three wars with the Horde. Primarily a human city, there are still a fair number of high elves and Ironforge dwarves, as well as a smattering of night elves and gnomes dwelling here as well. Stormwind City is the home of the Academy of Arcane Sciences, the only remaining school of wizardry in the east, and the Cathedral of Light, the philosophical capital for those who follow the Holy Light. These magnificent structures draw healers, priests, paladins and mages to the city, all of whom bolster Stormwind's military.

Rumor has it that the King also employs a highly secretive society called the Stormwind Assassins, who are spies and saboteurs wielding almost unlimited power under the King's name.
