WOW Zone:Blackrock Depths  

Getting to BRD

Coming in from Searing Gorge.

At the bottom of the Searing Gorge map is Blackrock Mountain. As you get to the mountain you'll see a trail that looks like wooden slats going up into the hills...follow it to the entrance of the mountain.

After emtering and following the path inside a short ways you'll come to a pit with a big thing hanging in the center suspended by massive chains. Turn LEFT as you enter this area and climb the rock to get on the chain you see in front of you. Follow the chain to the center of the pit.

Enter the LEFT entryway (right is ok too) and take a right and then an immediate LEFT, putting you in Franclorn Forgewright's tomb. The first time thru I was alive and didn't see anything, but as a ghost I saw Franclorn Forgewright's ghost, who gives you a quest "Dark Iron Legacy" which will reward you with the Shadowforge Key, allowing access to more of BRD. I assume you can only get this as a ghost, because I didn't see this NPC until I came thru the area as a ghost.

From the crypt room continue acroos the room and down the stairs to the outside again. Hug the wall and follow it around clockwise to another chain going down where you'll see the top link anchoring it to the ledge you're walking. Head on down the chain and take a right into the structure just as you approach an NPC Lothos Riftwaker. As soon as you enter, take a left putting you into "The Grinding Quarry".

Head North a short ways and then West, toward the narrow opening between two areas (shown on your mini map). Once into the adjoining area, head North. You'll know it's the right way as your mini map starts showing a red (fire) area called "The Masonry".

The entrance to the instance is at the top right of "The Masonry".
