WOW Mob:Thrall

In the short years before Thrall's birth an orc named Guldan conspired with dark orc warlocks to form the Shadow Council with the intent of manipulating the growing Horde into his own personal army. This was of course unknown to the orcs except for the Frostwolf leader Durotan, Thrall's soon to be father. Durotan attempted to warn his people that they were straying from the ancient shamanic ways of the past trading a connection to nature for rage and bloodlust even greater than the Orc's had already possessed not because they wanted to but because Guldan was controlling them via the dark powers granted to him from demons of the burning legion.

Before Durotan could accomplish his task Guldan turned on him and his clan banishing them to the snowy peaks of Alterac Mountains. It is here where Thrall's father and mother Draka conceived him. At first they were content with their departure from the evil that was becoming the Horde allowing them to be reminded of their connection to the 5 spirits of the world Fire, Earth, Wind, Water and the Wilds which controls the living spirit of all living things. However the birth of Thrall lead the great Frostwolf chieftan to reconsider his decision to remain in the caves with his clan far from the influence of evil powers and the wicked ways of mankind. He wanted more for his child and mate. He wanted the glory to return to his people free from the bondage of evil spirits.

After consorting only with his second in command Drek'Thar he and his family set out on a journey to seek council with the Horde warchief Orgrim Doomhammer. Being best of friends Durotan knew that Orgrim would believe him and together they would bring an end to Guldan's treachery. Unfortunately due to the exile of the Frostwolf Clan he could not risk others learning of the true identity of the three orcs who visited him that night so he sent them with his personal guard to an area not far from the camp where they would be safe until preparations could be made. So he thought. As it turned out the personal guard was a spy to Guldan and was prepared for Durotan's attempt to warn the Horde Warchief. He had a ambush squad awaiting their arrival at the camp which Orgrim had sent them. After brutally slaying Thrall's parents and leaving him for the wilderness to claim the assassins turned on the guard as instructed by their true master to eliminate any threat of his foul deeds being known.

The damage to Guldan's plan was already done and eventually he was brought down under the might of Doomhammer and his army but it was believed too late for the nameless child of the great Durotan. Nameless because the child had not yet made it to his naming ritual, a ceremony that all orc must go through to claim a right to their true name.

What wasn't known to Doomhammer was that while on a hunting trip from Durnholde, the human fortress found in Hillsbrad, an officer named Lieutenant Blackmoore stumbled upon the crying baby orc. Immediately a plan formed in his sinister mind. The officer had often dreamed of one day over taking the Alliance to rule the lands himself. A big dreamer no doubt but there laying in the grass, wrapped in nothing more than a Frostwolf clan marked linen, was the key to making his plan work. He took the child to raise in hopes of instilling the wit and strategy of the humans into the mind and body of a powerful orc male who could one day lead an army of his people, under the command of Blackmoore himself, to destroying the Alliance.

The days following were troubling for Aedelas Blackmoore. The orc child would not eat and was sure to starve if a solution did not present itself and to his luck it did. One of his servants, Tammis Foxton who was in charge of tending to the child, convinced his wife who had given birth only weeks before to nurse the little monster. Tammis' daughter Taretha, who was only a young age of 5 or 6 at the time herself, grew very attached to the little green baby. After her brother died shortly after the orcs arrival of a fever Taretha came to view the newcomer as a brother of her own. This bond would prove invaluable later to the Horde itself.

Blackmoore raised the child as a prisoner even giving him a name that reminded him of his place, Thrall, meaning slave. After years of training in combat and tactics, that would later aid the future Warchief in leading the Horde to victory, the now Lieutenant General Aedelas Blackmoore used Thrall as a tool to achieve great wealth by using the orc as a gladiator. Thrall was unstoppable losing only a single match in his time as a prisoner in Durnholde and the loss was only suffered to it being his 9th fight back to back and against a huge two headed ogre.

Oddly enough it was the beating that Thrall endured after causing his master a financial loss, due to his losing in the ring, that opened his eyes to what must be done. With the aid of Taretha, whom he had been secretly conversing with over the years, he managed to escape from Durnholde only to be captured and thrown into a camp filled with his people. This is when Thrall discovered how crushed the spirit of the orcs had become. He later escaped the camp and found his way to Grom Hellscream the Warsong Clan leader.

Grom teaches Thrall much about his people as well as a better understanding of the language. After learning of his clan origins, by showing Grom the linen he was found in as a baby, Thrall sets out into the mountains to find the exiled Frostwolf Clan. It is here that he learns his true potential as not only a leader but a shaman as well as it turns out.

After mastering the great power bestowed upon him Thrall leads a charge to free his people from slavery which eventually lands him at the gates of Durnholde facing Blackmoore himself. His former master had learned of Taretha's aid to Thrall as well as her affection for the monster which appalled the human beyond words. He was to one day take her as his wife so the news that she was a sympathizer of orcs sent him over the edge.

Standing at the gates of Durnholde with an army two thousand strong the merciful Thrall requests Blackmoore surrender and no one would fall to harm as long as his people were freed from slavery. In reply Blackmoore tosses the severed head of Thrall's sweet Tari at his feet. Thrall, consumed by rage, grief and bloodlust, unleashes a torrent of elements on the keep burning flesh and shattering stone. The battle wasn't even close under the might of Thrall's power as well as his army.

After slaying Blackmoore and freeing his people Thrall destroys the keep leaving the rubble behind to march towards his destiny.

He was named warchief of the Horde by Orgrim Doomhammer after being slain by a cowards spear in the back and later ruler of Durotar in Kalimdor.

Making his base of operations and city Orgrimmar, he is a level ?? Boss and the Orcish faction leader. He can be found in Grommash Hold in the Valley of Wisdom and in Durnholde Keep in the Old Hillsbrad Foothills instance.
