EQ2 Quest:They Have Searched an Age for a Dark Champion...  

This quest is part 1 of 3 for the Fabled version of the Shadowknight-only Epic Weapon.

To begin the quest: Upon reaching level 80, go to the basement of the Academy of Arcane Science ("Mage Building") in North Freeport. You will be attacked by 2 Teir`Dal, Nik U'ronu and Talon P'Radim. The encounter is solo'able. When defeated they will drop a small chest containing a hiring contract. Examine this item to start the quest.

Lanys T`Vyl's Tomb:

1. Go to the Darklight Wood and speak to Marla K'Stane at -410 -62 208. After a quick conversation kill her to receive the Mage's Divining Scroll.
2. Head over to West Freeport to the military fort. The misplaced file is next to Viscount Gelvonius on the top level.
3. Speak to Sir Sayex Nevagon behind the inn also in West Freeport to receive the Bone Shield of Laathik K'Shin
4. Examine the Mage's Divining Scroll in your inventory to receive an update and be sent on a task:
• Kill 10 Teir'Dal Warriors in Neriak - These will automatically attack you as you walk around the city. They are invisible until they attack you. L82-83^, Solo'able, but they pack a decent punch so you may want to bring a friend or two. They are also KoS to the guards, who can assist you if you are nearby (the guards will not steal your update).
• Collect the Skull of a Teir`Dal Champion - Skull is a ground spawn at the back corner of one of the player houses near the Palace in Neriak. Very difficult to see (you have to be right on top of it).
• Kill 10 Feir'Dal Warriors in New Tunaria - Similar to the step in Neriak, these will automatically attack you as you walk around the city. They are invisible until they attack you. Again, L82-83^ solo'able, but help will save you some frustration.
• Collect the Skull of a Feir`Dal Champion - Skull is a ground spawn behind the back-right tombstone in the cemetary in Felwithe.
• I must gather the unmarred bones from powerful sentient beings - These updates can come from seemingly any sentient mob of L76 or above. Sathirian Milites gave me updates on this, as did the scorpions guarding Charasis. I got most of my updates for this step on Elder Jungle Quatchas in Kunzar Jungle (there is a cave full of them on a fast respawn timer which makes it a good place to just sit and mill for updates).
5. Travel back to Neriak and swim underwater to -154, -5, 129 to locate the tomb. Harvest Lanys' Mortal Remains from the ground near the tomb and then interact with the tomb itself. A spirit will spawn. Speak with him for the next update.

The Envy of Lhranc:

1. Visit the City of Mist area of the Kunzar Jungle. Clear your way to the building in which spawns The Black Reaver. Therein you will find Lharnc the Confined. Hail for your update.
2. Travel to the Edgewater Drains, deep underneath Freeport. There, pacing the ramp between the upper and lower areas of the zone, you will find Glohner, an 85^^^ mob with a lot of HP. Bring a good DPS group to take him down.
3. Return to Lhranc in the City of Mist. This time Lhranc will despawn and reappear as Lhranc the Envious. Lhranc too is an 85^^^ encounter. Two tanks are recommended for this fight as Lhranc has the ability to drop a long duration charm on his target, forcing the player to attack his own party. A second tank is useful to account for this happening. Defeat Lhranc.
• When Lhranc dies he will drop a small chest containing a Talisman of Envy. Loot this. NOTE: When killed inside of the building he spawns in, it has been reported that the chest can bug below the floor and be unlootable. It is recommended that you pull Lhranc outside to kill him.
4. Travel to Teren's Grasp in the Kylong Plains. Speak with Yeal Jouse in the building in northeast corner of the area. You must have max (50,000) faction with Residents of Teren's Grasp to get this update.
• Target Yeal Jouse and USE the Talisman of Envy from your inventory to expose Yeal's true nature. Speak with him to receive further instruction.

Protecting the Primordial Malice:

1. Go to the city of Jinisk in the Kunzar Jungle and speak with Sszot Skiks ("Skiks". SK IKS. Shadowknight Iksar..get it!?). You must have a minimum of 40,000 faction with Jinisk to receive this update. You also must speak the Sathirian Language (See A Mysterious Black Tome).
2. Speak with Atria X'aphon standing behind a counter there in Jinisk. She will tell the story of her order and direct you to kill 4 Teir`Dal assassins known as The Crimson Tier:
• Jerak T`Shir - Located in Teren's Grasp in the alley alongside the building to your immediate right as you enter TG. Will spawn and attack as you approach its location. 85^^^, scout class mob.
• Torin D'Rin - Located in the Library room in Karnor's Castle (-31, -56, 162). Spawns as you near the room, but far enough away that he will not attack immediately. 85^^^ that spawns with two knowledge seekers (85^^) who will assist during the fight. Periodically performs a knockback.
• Talik K`syk & Mydraa K`syk - Located on the back edge of the final tentacle platform in Chelsith. Both 85^^^. Mydraa is a coercer class mob who will use stun and silence often. She should be killed first and swiftly unless you have an enchanter to keep her mezzed until you can kill Talik. Talik is a straight-forward melee encounter with a lot of HP.
3. Return to Jinisk to tell Atria of your success and to be given your next task.

Collecting the Emblems:

1. Collect the King's Emblem
• Travel to Nektulos Forest and speak with Dragoon K`Naae. If you had previously completed the Shiny Brass Halberd Heritage Quest you can trade the weapon to him in exchange for the King's Emblem. Otherwise you will need to complete that HQ first, then return to him to complete this step.
2. Collect the Archpriest's Emblem
• Travel to Neriak, to the Spires of Innoruuk. Inside, on the base of the statue behind Xilania Nevagon, you will see a small skull with a dagger in it. Interact with this to be transported up to the attic of the building where you will find Dorvias N`Keth.
• Speak with Dorvias and he will attack you. He is an 85^^^ who will summon no-arrow level 85 minion of hates to assist him. Ignore the ghosts as best you can as killing them will just cause him to immediately summon more to replace them. Focus on killing Dorvias as swiftly as possibly. The ghosts will die when he does. A very high DPS group is recommended here. Defeat Dorvias and he will drop a chest containing the Archpriest's Emblem.
3. Collect the Prophet's Emblem
• Speak with Xilania Nevagon in the Spires of Innoruuk in Neriak. She will offer to trade you the emblem in exchange for finding her seven pieces of rare Shadowknight armor:
• The Blood Ember Gauntlets
• The Blood Ember Shoulders
• The Blood Ember Bracer
• The Darkforge Greaves
• The Darkforge Breastplate
• The Blood Lord's Boots
• The Umbral Helm
