RPG Vault interview with Jake Song

Who is Jake Song? He's the developer of Lineage: The Bloodpledge, a Korean MMORPG with a much higher subscriber base than even Everquest. He is becoming a stronger influence in online gaming industry and thus will probably have some effect on the games you will be playing in the future. RPG Vault has a nice interview with him. Here's an excerpt from the interview: Jonric: What are the major lessons that Eastern and Western online world developers can learn from each other? Jake Song: There are several things that I can think of. First, business model. I don't think that game rooms will be popular in the US, but there is a possibility for the European market because the population density is higher in Europe than in the US. Game content-wise, current games are based on medieval fantasy or sci-fi settings. Some settings based on oriental theme like medieval China or Japan would be interesting to western players and can refresh the market. I think some technologies like 3D is quite advanced in western side. Eastern side may need to learn those. You can read the entire interview at this link.
