Network Maintenance (Jan. 22)

if pol messed up my harddrive i am going to be angry!!! extremely angry!!! the so called update is finished i reformatted my hard drive and still can't get on while i can get on Monster hunter any time i want to!!!

Grawr! My POL won't let me log on at all. I type in my password and it starts to connect, but then I get an error (POL-1160) -.- I had ZM5 scheduled to do today ~.~ I was hoping that this update would fix it but NO. SE hates me.

SE messed up big time.

It is 4:15 est, maintanence ended at 4:00. I still can't connect, did they change the ending time on maintanence?

Disconnection Issues

I hope that after this update there won't be so many disconnection issues. I haven't been able to play for 2 days, and I miss my FFXI!

I don't know a whole lot about computers, but to those of you with connection issues, have you made sure your security programs (Norton, McAfee...) do not recognize POL as something horrible that will attack your comp? I had to change one function in the firewall so that POL could connect all right. It seemed to help some. I could play for a little longer. Lately the connection has been horrible for me though. I'm really hoping that this will clear up the disconnection issues.

i get Server Busy and then get kicked out to the main menu Only once after upgrade. OR even worse and what i get most is an pol.exe error, kicks me out to my Windows XP and then wanna send error to microsoft, thats kinda lame. tryed Remove my Norton antivirus but nothing.
And funny thing is that its always late night i get pol.exe errors, thats wierd ><

I, too, am having this problem. I come back from a month long absence (thanks to a faulty network card) only to find that a software issue is keeping me from playing. Anyone have any idea for a fix?

There are 2 updates actually... there was a small update last night (took me 2 minutes total to connect/download/install/reconnect), and another one on Saturday.

Im trying to figure out how Squenix gets my schedule every week so they can plan these updates on my days off. It never fails... No updates all week while I'm working, but if there's an update it falls on my day off, be it weekday or weekend. *boggles* And always in the middle of the day too or early evening, never early morning... Oh well. At least this upcoming one looks like we should be able to play through it so it's not even a big deal... hopefully...

Alright, this patch is the worst yet. Since I've downloaded it, I've been disconnected 13 times in the past 5 minutes. I'll log in, get on my character, and poof: R0 down to 0% and DC.

Anyone else getting this?

I am getting this as well. I have a wireless connection (don't tell me this is it because I have another computer doing the same on a different account) - BUT my PS2 is ok - not been affected, YET I have not downloaded any other update other than the one that I got for the BGM.

My PC's however did download the 2nd patch.

Is this patch for PC only? Is there any fix for it?

Please let me know - Im trying to lvl up in Crawler's Nest and it is getting frustrating.

Times of disconnect vary between every 2 minutes to ever 10 to 15 - longest time stayed on is about 30 minutes.

Please Help!

Thank God,
I got dced about 15 times 2 nights ago and 4 times last night. It was so bad at 1 point that I considered quitting the game all together.
There were times when I would dc every 10 minutes.I would try to log back in but it said my character was already logged in, or I would get a time out error. (Fingers crossed) Lets hope this fixes it.

im having a promblem getting on error code POL-0020 The DNS server isnt responding i have dsl so is this cause of me not getting into playonline or is it cause of DSL?

I tried to logon yesterday and playonline said I was already logged on. Said that I should wait a little while and try again...

Now I know there is no way anybody else could be logged on as me...

So what's the problem?

If you disconnect while playing for whatever reason you character stays in the game for about 30 seconds. If you try to log back in in that time it won't let you in. Just wait about 10-20 seconds and try again. The benifit to your character staying in the game is if you're on auto-fight you'll keep fighting:) I've seen my roomates disconnect on their screen they're back in windows trying to log back in and on my screen they're still going in the fight. They of course can't pull any special abilities but it helped save us in that fight.

I got disconnected, and trying to log on it downloaded the new patch. After that POL restarted and I can't log on anymore, due to POL-1160 error. I'm positive my internet is working fine, since I can access allakhazam, playonline, squareenix and various other websites.

Anyone else have this problem?
