Outland: Out Monday!

Swap, slash, and dodge your way through a world of darkness and light.

Outland was originally released three years ago on XBL and PSN. Developed by Housemarque (RESOGUN) and published by Ubisoft, the tribal platformer got good reviews. And now, Outland is finally coming to PC this Monday!

Does it stand up to current platformers?

We recently played for an hour, and...it was actually pretty good! Movement and attacking were fairly smooth. The light/dark swapping – Outland's key mechanic – was neat. The story didn't shine, but the overall atmosphere and aesthetic certainly did. The only noticeable downside was a lack of customizable controls. Less problematic with a controller, but an easy gripe for mouse & keyboard.

If you're a fan of platformers, it's priced fairly at $10. Simply curious? Consider it again during sales. But based on popular opinion and our quick look, Outland is an entertaining challenge that stands up to its platforming peers.
