Steam: Store "Discovery Update"

Ever have trouble finding good games, or basically anything, on Steam? You're in luck.

"The Steam Discovery Update makes it easier to find exactly
what you want when shopping for a new game experience."

Steam, the ubiquitous client from Valve, just got a major store upgrade. Sifting through its 3,700 titles used to be a chore (at best). Now, it's much easier to find content you're actually interested in. Here's how:

Overhauled Search: Searches will look into the name, description, and tags of the Steam catalog. You can also filter results by tags or specific features.

Smarter Home Page: Recommendations based on your gameplay, reviews from your favorite "Curators" and more. Many areas are customizable and can filter out games you already own, and titles you aren't interested in.

Steam Discovery Queue: Quickly look through suggested games, and choose to follow it, add to wishlist, buy it, or tell Steam you're not interested. Refreshed everyday!

Steam Curators: Like how a person or group thinks about games? Select your favorite Curators, and their recommendations will appear on your activity feed. You can even become a Curator yourself!

We just tested the new search. It's fantastic. A good update for an already-great platform. Cheers to Valve for always improving! Now, if we could just talk about that Customer Support...

Overall, I like the update, though I find I'm still trying to get used to it.

What I wish, is that there was a way to... I don't know... "Blacklist" certain games from appearing in the front page?

For example...

Every single time I open Steam's front page, I get several games that I've been seeing on the front page for the last several months in a row, including:

7 Days to Die
DayZ
Several F2P games that have been out for months now
Etc etc.

With this new update, I'm starting to see stuff like EVE and games that were released years ago on the front page.

IMO, the Front Page should be about NEW games coming out, and maybe I'm misunderstanding how to configure/tweak Steam, but I want it to show me the newest and latest stuff, not stuff that came out almost a year ago or more, stuff I already know about, but are not interested in.

I wish there was a little box I could check that says "Don't display this on the front page again" and I could simply do that for each game I decide I'm not interested in.

Also, I wish they hadn't removed the "Friend Activity" section from the front page, sometimes I found it interesting to know what my friends were up to.
