Evolve: Delayed Until February 2015

Originally set to unleash this October, Turtle Rock now has four extra months.

Original Release: October 21st, 2014 – 10 weeks away
New Release: February 10th, 2015 – 26 weeks away

Turtle Rock Studios has announced that Evolve, one of E3's most intriguing games, is now delayed. This is likely a direct result of Alpha feedback. Testers are having fun, but say it's "lacking depth." Extra time will give Turtle Rock the time to flesh out their flesh-rending 4v1 combat.

We're taking a little extra time on @EvolveGame to take it to the next level of incredible on February 10, 2015.

Turtle Rock co-founder Chris Ashton expanded on the topic:

"As we got closer to the October date, we were able to look at where the game was going to be, and compare that to where we all dreamed it would be. In a meeting with the top brass I described it as 'painfully close.'

"Fortunately 2K feels the same way and is willing to put extra time into the game so that we can make our dream a reality. That's huge for us, and for the future of Evolve. We want to be proud of every aspect of the game on release day."

Sad about the news? This inevitable Shigeru Miyamoto quote always sums it up well:

"A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever."
