Trion Worlds has gained over a quarter of a million players for its two games RIFT and DefianceThe company's stellar week was highlighted by the re-release of RIFT as a free-to-play offering on Steam and its participation in the marathon for charity for children known as Extra Life.

RIFT had a particularily exceptional week, gaining its highest single day increase of new users. Trion Worlds also garnered the most fundraising for the Extra Life charity, raising a whopping $63,000 for children's hospitals. The public's reaction to the Extra Life marathon was immense; Defiance's creative lead Trick Dempsey was astounded:

"The outpouring of support was overwhelming... We sent free copies of Defiance to Extra Life participants and tens of thousands of new gamers came to play the game with us. I was floored to see how many people not only jumped on to play but also who watched the stream and cheered us on."

Trion Worlds' CEO Scott Hartsman was equally humbled by the incredible response. "It goes to show that our philosophy of ‘the more you give, the more you get’ really resonated... We’re proud to support our players with great content and to be able to join together with them and support children’s hospitals."

RIFT has shown no signs of slowing down as the game's newest update, Song of Dreams, recently launched on the 6th of November. Trion Worlds also has plans to release Defiance's second DLC pack titled Arkbreaker, it is slated for launch later this December.

For having so many new adventurers in such a short time period :) I've never really got what that F2P launch in Steam means as i've been playing Rift in Steam from almost it's launch. Nice to support Trion with credits purchases and occasional Subbing even when in F2P mode :)

Hopefully manyyy of those new adventurers decide to stay for a long time in Telara and that they enojy their time in there :) Was nice to be part of Trion's 25hrs Xtralife stream and happy to donate & grats Trion for reaching such a nice amount for charity :)

Shame on those spineless hackers who invaded the website for couple times and good that they didn't manage to ruin the event. Now starts Friday Livestream Extravaganza so going to watch =)

Defiance tv serie had great 1st season :) Shame that Defiance's DLC 2 with social side improvements comes only in December and team didn't realise to make that social side improvement already a bit after launch, but good that it's coming.

After stream to adventure into Wolfsbane shard where i'm in a guild that has many ppl who have been together in gaming for 10+ years and some even 15years..it's amazing and such a nice spirit in that guild.

Wish a nice weekend and rest year and amazing future for Trionworlds and all Rift & Defiance fans :)

Amazing congrats to beautiful world of Telara

Not sure where you got your information from but there were a few teams that raised a bit more then them. No doubt what Trion did for extra life is amazing!

Sorry, I should have been more clear they raised the most out of any registered company during their drive period... My mistake!

Rooster Teeth raised a little bit more then them and being a LLC I would think that would qualify them as a company.

Yeah I see the stats you're talking about, but our press release has different information on it. There are also different donation periods if I'm not mistaken, right?
