Black Gold Demo At E3

Gamers at E3 will be getting a chance to embark on a new journey in this upcoming steam-punk MMO.

Snail Games, the studio behind the recent martial-arts MMORPG Age Of Wushu, is ready to give gamers a hands on demo at E3 of the team's next big MMO project, Black Gold.

Unlike its martial-arts counterpart, Black Gold takes place in a steam-punk fantasy setting where two factions are vying for control over a mysterious energy source known as "Black Gold". While little is known about the names of the two factions, we do know that one side aims to use the Black Gold energy source as a means to control and harness sorcery and healing magic while the other aims to use it to fuel mechanical machines of war, making the plot a literal clash of magic and technology.

At E3, players will be able to team up in order to experience the game's PvE content and take down three unique bosses or test their skill in PvP combat featuring mechs, battle mounts, and more. While there will be six playable races in total, only two will be available at the E3 demo; allowing players to choose either the magic-wielding "Kosh" or the group of humans known as the "Bubont" who choose to wield science and technology as their weapons.

At a glimpse Black Gold does seem to be vastly different than Age of Wushu, but judging by the screenshots, the one thing they do share are extraordinary visuals. Players who are looking for an immersive steam-punk/ fantasy setting will definitely want to keep their eyes on this one. Or, if you're planning on visiting E3 next week, be sure to check out the demo located in booth #5222 in the West Hall of the LA Convention Center and let us know what you think.

Our own Scott Hawkes will be on hand to see for himself as he reports from the show floor.
