Everquest II Class Tree Puzzler

I was sent this by SOE, and thought I would pass it along: EverQuest II Class Tree Revealed As a holiday gift to EverQuest fans, Sony Online Entertainment today released a puzzle that will reveal the highly anticipated class tree for EverQuest II, on the company's EverQuest II game site at: http://everquest2.station.sony.com/classes.jsp EverQuest II features 48 classes available through a tree branch progression, allowing you to choose your class as you advance in the game. The answer to the puzzle will be announced after the holiday break, but fans are sure to solve it much sooner. Additionally, we've added three new QuickTime VR movies to the site as well at: http://everquest2.station.sony.com/media.jsp

A good thing.... Maybe

I for one welcome the new class set up, i have always loved class branching. If it is done right people will beable to play exactly how they want to play, though if they do manage to ***** it up some how (ie not let us take full control of our avitars) it will be no better or worse than EQ is currently.

Remember this: /ooc Wizard LFG pls, or Druid LFG pls, and not forgetting Necro LFG pls.....

Things may have improved some what with LDoN on these classes getting groups more often.

Why the hell would Druids, Wizzies, or Necros need a a grp. They can all solo. Your point would hv been better made w/: "ooc/ war LFG or rog LFG".

Have no probs getting a group with my rogue at all. and the point was that solo get boring real quick. Even more so when you have 3 toons that can solo over 55.

Hmm, so the major differences from EQ classes so far seem to be that Necromancers/Magicians have been merged into a single class (Conjurers) and so have SKs/Paladins (Crusaders). Looks like you'll be able to choose one or the other at a certain point. Also, there seem to be no Beastlords at all... Unless that's what a 'Bruiser' is, but the name certainly doesn't seem like it.

And of course the Artisan classes.
Is it just me...

or is Sony just dividing what they already have? Granted, I haven't been following the EQ2 craze, but nonetheless thats what it seems.

Take Shaman -> Mystic/Defiler

Will one be able to heal and buff while the other uses damage over time spells and slows? If this is the case, I'm pretty sure I'll stick ot my full shaman on good ole' EverQuest vanilla.

Yes! That is exactly what they are doing! However a word of caution to SOE, be VERY careful you don't make any classes too weak!

Overall I think it is an excellent idea to split up the abilities of characters to facilitate enhanced grouping and keep "ultra-powerful" classes in check.

Again though...the word of caution.
